The course includes practical and theory modules and gives learners a chance to experience the day-to-day procedures related to working in a hairdressing salon through Open Salon days in college.

Through a combination of practical observation and assessment, you will study and practice all areas of hairdressing including: consulting, hair and scalp analysis, blow-drying and setting, cutting and chemical services. There will be an emphasis on practical work experience in approved hairdressing salons, where learners will have contact with clients and potential employers. You will be required to purchase a uniform and professional work kit.

Quantity Surveyors understand and can quantify the extent of work necessary to complete any project before it is constructed and can advise clients and contractors of its cost right from the initial sketch design issued by the project Architect.

Quantity surveyors seek to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. The profession of quantity surveying is at the forefront of construction economics and management. This honours degree programme has been developed in partnership with industry and is unique in providing a 12 month work placement for students in year 3 of the programme. As the businessperson of the construction world the Quantity Surveyor is a mix of an Accountant, a Solicitor and a Building Manager. Quantity Surveyors have expertise in cost planning and controlling of construction projects, estimating, procurement, tendering and contracts administrative processes. In Year 3, a four-month work placement provides an opportunity for practical learning for each student.
