The BBs (Hons) in Business Studies with Event Management includes both the creative and business aspects of event management. There is a full semester of work placement and/or the option to study at one of our partner universities across Europe, as well as regular field trips and guest lectures.

You will study the core business principles of accounting, economics, risk management and insurance, human resource management and marketing. Students taking BBS with French will study the French language stream throughout the four years of the programme, along with their regular Business subjects.

The marketing and public relations landscape is changing with the development of Social Media and its use by many organisations, and students will learn to compete in this landscape. Modern business practices using relevant innovative technologies are at the core of this course. Students will gain applied experience by assisting in marketing initiatives, organising events, attending workshops, a two-week work placement programme to acquiring industry insights from guest speakers.

This Pre-University course is an excellent foundation for those wishing to pursue higher education degree programmes in UCD, TU Dublin, DCU, TCD, NUI Maynooth and other colleges.

This one-year course will provide students with the business skills in addition to the sports/fitness qualifications they need to obtain work in a wide variety of settings. It includes a QQI Level 5 Certificate in Sports, Recreation & Exercise Award as well as an internationally recognised Gym Instruction qualification. There are growing opportunities in this sector due to national strategies in exercise and sport participation.

The interesting blend of both sports and business modules provides graduates with the skills, knowledge and competencies to work in either sport or business management, maximising employment opportunities.
