Environmental Science and Engineering is a new integrated undergraduate with postgraduate degree course that aims to train the next generation of graduates who have the competencies, knowledge and experience necessary to design and deploy solutions that protect and improve our environment and human wellbeing, and that work with rather than against the natural world to foster biodiversity, climate action and sustainable use of Earth’s finite resources.

This honours degree offers a unique combination of scientific and instrumentation based modules to train graduates in the skills required to become environmental monitoring specialists, specifically in the areas of air and water quality analysis.

Whether out on field trips or doing nanoscale environmental analysis in the lab, you’ll gain the analytical and practical skills to understand, protect and improve our environment. Over the four years, you’ll gain a strong scientific core in biology, chemistry, physics and maths. This is vital to working as an environmental scientist, but also gives you flexibility when it comes to your career choice. In your third year, you’ll do a nine-month work placement and you also have the chance to study abroad. And of course, throughout the course, you’ll be able to contribute practically to reducing carbon reliance.

The overall aim of the programme is to equip you with degree-level competence in the disciplines of Equine Science and a choice of professional studies in either Equitation* (the art or practice of horse riding or horsemanship) or Equine Business Management. Graduates of the programme contribute to the continued development of the horse industry through the application of their knowledge, skills and research in Science, Equitation and Business Management.

The Certificate and Diploma courses are suitable if you want to achieve academic qualifications before starting work in an area of horse-based or related industries. The programmes offer a broad base of learning in equine science, equitation and equine related business topics. This three stranded approach provides a strong platform for building a flexible career. In most semesters you will have a choice of module that allows you to align your studies with your personal interests and ambitions. Students who progress to the Diploma in Science (Equine Science) can choose to follow either a business or equitation specialist route.

European Studies in the University of Limerick is a broad and integrated world-class programme. This 3-year degree programme builds the fundamental knowledge and skills of students for a career in the events industry, by mixing event modules such as Event Risk Management, Event Project Management, Event Production & Design, Event Fundraising & Sponsorship and Event Operations Management, with a solid foundation of business focussed modules in areas of marketing, financial management and entrepreneurship.

This four year honours degree in Exercise & Health Fitness Management provides you with a broad introduction to a career in the fitness industry.
