Working in the education sector is an important job which comes with significant responsibilities. Learners on this course, will become part of increasingly multi skilled teams in the workplace. We will equip our graduates to be able to work effectively in contemporary educational contexts and will qualify graduates to work in primary and post-primary settings as SNAs with specialisms in Inclusive Practice.

This innovative programme is further designed to enable SNAs across primary and post-primary sectors to integrate Inclusive Practice into their working environments.

This course will give learners the knowledge and skills necessary to work effectively with their own dogs or to progress professionally as a dog trainer. Handling dogs responsibly will be a focus of the course to enable learners progress to any of the animal care industry roles.

This course is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to work effectively with dogs, as pet owners, professional dog trainers, or as canine performance enthusiasts. Whether learners wish to progress their career in dog handling, aspire to compete in canine events, or wish to better understand and train their own dogs, this course will provide a platform to do so while promoting responsible and compassionate dog ownership and handling.

This course is designed to assist students in identifying their career skills and interests. It is ideal for anyone who needs support in their preparation for the job market. It will also suit those who wish to improve their career-readiness but may also be considering further study in the future.

This apprenticeship consists of four on-the-job phases with an approved employer and three off-the-job phases in an educational organisation. Apprentices will be invited to attend their off-the-job training phases in accordance with the SOLAS scheduling system.

On completion of this four-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified carpenter and joiner, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Carpentry and Joinery.

You will go on to be employed in the construction industry on building sites, in a joinery shop or in maintenance and other areas like renovating buildings, shopfitting, exhibition/display work.

Many craftspersons use their qualification as a platform to launch careers such as managers, owners of businesses and instructors amongst others.

This one year full-time course at Post-Leaving Certificate level is designed for students who aspire to apprenticeships in Carpentry & Joinery or related trades. It also allows successful students the opportunity to progress into further studies at Third Level or Further Education.
