This programme aims to bring students to the highest performing level, and to enhance the interpretative and intellectual qualities of their performance through supporting academic studies.

The number of students admitted to the course is small, and therefore applicants are expected to have attained considerable proficiency in their chosen instrument/voice. This programme of studies has been validated and approved by Trinity College Dublin for the award of the Honors Degree: Bachelor in Music Performance.

This practical Music Performance course will support your ambitions for a career as a performer, composer, producer, manager, teacher or technician. You will be supported to develop performance skills through specialist lessons for instrumental and ensemble performance in a range of different styles. The course will develop your theoretical understanding of music styles, composition and a detailed understanding of the music industry and music management.

As a practical course, assessment is through a range of live music performance projects, including live performance gigs at professional venues. There are excellent progression links to music studies at Higher Education.

This course is aimed at developing a musician's ability in the areas of performance and musical awareness and to further enhance his/her skills through music technology and computer applications. This course provides students with hands-on experience, training and in the various aspects of the music industry. Live performances and studio recordings are an integral part of the course, which is designed for musicians, songwriters and producers.

Through continued commitment to rehearsal, students develop the discipline that is required to work in the music industry. Students present, produce and perform a number of live performances as part of their course work. These offer an ideal environment in which each student can put the knowledge and skills gained on the course into use.

The BTEC HND in Music Performance is an exciting new course which will develop your knowledge, understanding, skills and techniques as a musician for successful employment in the music industry or progression to further study. Both theoretical and practical musicianship skills are covered, combined with performance opportunities, event management, music technology and recording.

In addition students will get a broad insight into the music business from lecturers who are experienced musicians and industry practitioners.

The Music Performance and Industry Practice course has been designed to prepare learners for opportunities in the music industry. This is achieved by providing learners with essential music theory, an introduction to recording skills, music practice, event production, and broad insight into the music industry.

The students will gain knowledge of music theory and its practical application to musical styles and genres including writing their own songs. Students explore the structure of the music industry in addition to gaining practical skills in recording and producing music in a modern production environment. Students also learn how to plan and organise events as part of the course.

As Ireland’s only Avid Pro Tools Pro School (and one of only six in Europe), you will acquire official certification in Avid Pro Tools.

The Music Production Course fuses art and science to ensure students become fluent in the language and culture of music technology. Recording techniques are used in the studio, live and on location. Emerging trends are explored in audio technology, synthesis and sound design to make sure that your technique is fresh, vibrant and state-of-the-art. This course introduces students to the rudiments involved in producing music in live sound recording and/or static settings, either in a home studio or in a large recording studio. Students learn from musicians who have worked in the industry and who will impart to them their knowledge of the performance and technical perspectives involved in creating high quality recordings.

On this course students will study the technical operation of sound recording equipment and the related industry standard software techniques necessary to complete a recording.  In addition, students will study project management and develop business skills that will give them the skillset to allow them to gain employment in this area or advance to further and higher education.

This degree course is aimed at students who want to work in the music and audio production industry. Graduates will have the knowledge and skills needed to perform at a high-level in a number of modern technical environments, including: recording studios, video editing suites, and in live theatre. 

This honours degree course is designed for students wishing to build a career in the Music and Audio production industry. During the course, students will learn to compose, produce, and distribute music and audio for digital reproduction mediums. Students also develop the ability create, engineer, and promote music and audio-visual events using industry standard technologies and methods.

The programme produces graduates with the technical, creative, and professional skills required by employers in the music and audio industries. Graduates possess a broad awareness of the different roles in the industry and the experience required to take up employment on small or large-scale projects. Our Certificate in Music Production for Games is available part-time over a one-year period. The aim of the course is to equip students with a high level of competence in specific skills for the areas of applications technology, games development, sound design, and much more.

You will develop music production skills in studio recording, mixing and post-production editing in our professional facilities. This is matched with specialist lessons in music sequencing, sound synthesis and music technology to help you explore your creative musical potential.

Practical projects will also enable you to learn about the world of live sound, events management and the music industry. This course features a high level of training in a wide range of industry standard music production software including Logic Pro®, Ableton Live® and Pro Tools®.

This course has been designed to prepare learners for opportunities in in the Music Industry. This is achieved by providing learners with essential music theory, an introduction to recording skills, music practice, event production and a broad insight into the Music Industry.

The undergraduate Music degree programme at Ulster University is based around four core elements: Performance, Composition, Musicology and Music Technology.

Year 1 is designed to provide students with a comprehensive overview of musical styles, genres and disciplines enabling them to develop existing skills and interests as well as acquire a range of new ones. As a Major student, you'll take modules in Musicology and Performance Studies.

The BSc in Music, Media and Performance Technology is a programme that enables students to enter into the contemporary world of digital media, film, sound and interactive technology and performance.
