This BIMM Music Institute Dublin Diploma will serve as a fundamental introduction to Music and Audio Production, providing students with the core knowledge, technical and creative skills required for a range of creative industries.

TUS Athlone Campus exclusively offers an industry focused program that features Sound Engineering, Instrument Technology, Imaging and Professional Development to create the unique Bachelor of Science in Music and Sound Engineering, Level 7 (MASE). You will be involved in a wide range of industry specific assignments and practical work which encompasses all aspects of sound engineering, instrument craft & design and other creative studies that are all necessities for the creative industry

This course allows students to develop a broad range of knowledge and skills in audio and music technology, sound engineering and production and musicianship. Students will gain hands-on experience in studio work (audio tracking, audio mixing), composition with technology and radio production in our high-spec studios and multimedia editing suites. A series of events throughout the academic year will allow students to gain experience in studio production, live sound, composition with technology, radio programme production and musicianship whilst developing the necessary skills required to navigate the technical music and sound industry. As part of the course, students will be developing competence in industry software such as AVID Pro Tools, Reason, Adobe Audition, Sibelius, Ableton and other software.

The BIMM Institute Dublin Diploma in Music Business is designed to provide students with a skillset specifically aimed at future employment in fields as diverse as Music Promotion and Marketing, Artist Management, Tour Management, Physical and Digital Music Distribution, e-commerce in the Music Industry, Music Publishing and Recording, Live Music Events and Touring and PROs.

An extensive range of tutorials, Masterclasses and industry workshops will complement the curriculum. This ensures that students are fully supported and connected to the existing BIMM community of artists and performers. You’ll also be exposed to a wider network of industry opportunities.

In designing this programme, the Academy has focused on training composers in the areas of acoustic and electro-acoustic music, in addition to theoretical support subjects such as harmony and counterpoint, analysis, history and aural awareness. Students can specialise in their area of interest from year three onwards. In addition to these elements, the programme places a strong emphasis on performance, particularly in guaranteeing our composition students frequent performances and recordings of their works played by their fellow students and by professional musicians.

The number of students admitted to the course is small, and therefore applicants are expected to have attained considerable proficiency in their chosen instrument/voice. This programme of studies has been validated and approved by Trinity College Dublin for the award of the Honors Degree: Bachelor in Music Performance.

The BTEC HND in Music Performance is an exciting new course which will develop your knowledge, understanding, skills and techniques as a musician for successful employment in the music industry or progression to further study. Both theoretical and practical musicianship skills are covered, combined with performance opportunities, event management, music technology and recording.

In addition students will get a broad insight into the music business from lecturers who are experienced musicians and industry practitioners.

This practical Music Performance course will support your ambitions for a career as a performer, composer, producer, manager, teacher or technician. You will be supported to develop performance skills through specialist lessons for instrumental and ensemble performance in a range of different styles. The course will develop your theoretical understanding of music styles, composition and a detailed understanding of the music industry and music management.

As a practical course, assessment is through a range of live music performance projects, including live performance gigs at professional venues. There are excellent progression links to music studies at Higher Education.

This course is aimed at developing a musician's ability in the areas of performance and musical awareness and to further enhance his/her skills through music technology and computer applications. This course provides students with hands-on experience, training and in the various aspects of the music industry. Live performances and studio recordings are an integral part of the course, which is designed for musicians, songwriters and producers.

Through continued commitment to rehearsal, students develop the discipline that is required to work in the music industry. Students present, produce and perform a number of live performances as part of their course work. These offer an ideal environment in which each student can put the knowledge and skills gained on the course into use.

The Music Performance and Industry Practice course has been designed to prepare learners for opportunities in the music industry. This is achieved by providing learners with essential music theory, an introduction to recording skills, music practice, event production, and broad insight into the music industry.
