Chevron College is currently accepting registration of interest for a new 3-year Undergraduate Bachelor of Science (BSc.) Physiotherapy Degree which is being run in partnership with the University of East London.

Chevron College have a vision to educate highly-skilled Physiotherapists who will consistently provide critically appraised, evidence-informed, and compassionate care to patients in diverse health environments.

Successful completion of this course will result in a QQI Level 5 Certificate in Physiotherapy Assistant 5M3782.

The overarching philosophy of the programme is the development of a graduate who is well rounded, autonomous practitioner with the knowledge required to underpin the current demands of the profession. They will be confident, reflective practitioners capable of managing change, supporting their profession and patients and developing professionally as their role evolves in the ever-changing Irish and global healthcare landscape.

This course would be ideal for any learner who wants to work in this newlydeveloping role. Learners will develop the skills needed to assist physiotherapists with their caseload and, clients with different elements of treatment/rehabilitation.

The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skills and competence to work in a supportive role in the area of rehabilitation and physical disability. The Physiotherapist Assistant’s role will be to work under the direction and guidance of a Chartered Physiotherapist to assess, treat and support recovering clients.

This one-year Physiotherapy Studies course introduces the core principles of rehabilitation, focusing on the assessment and treatment of mobility issues resulting from injury, illness, or aging. This course gives students the knowledge, experience, and teaching skills required to launch their careers as professional, confident Pilates instructors.  Over the course of the academic year, students have the time and support to develop their own Pilates practice, while also gaining essential Pilates teaching experience in a supervised setting. Students learn to design classes and develop expertise in offering individual modifications.

This unique course combines Pilates Teacher Training with sports massage therapies, body conditioning and exercise, which is ideal for anyone seeking a holistic and structured approach to teaching Pilates.

Successful students gain an industry standard in Pilates Teaching and up-skill as a fitness professional. On successful completion, students will receive an ITEC Diploma. This qualification will equip learners with the practical experience and knowledge to gain successful employment in the sport and fitness industry. There is also the potential to start your own fitness business.

Pipefitters install, repair and maintain high and low- pressure pipe systems used in commercial and industrial installations. You will work on piping systems that carry all kinds of liquids, gaseous and solid materials, and provide a wide range of services including welding and fabrication in a variety of industries. MTU is the only Technological University or Institute of Technology in the country which offers craft level apprenticeship courses in pipefitting.

The Certificate in Plant-Based Cooking and Sustainable Practices is a short course designed to upskill existing culinary staff and potential new entrants in the skills required to serve the growth in demand for newer, plant-based menu options in the hospitality and broader food service sector, and do so in a sustainable way. It provides an upskilling opportunity for existing staff, equally an opportunity for a first qualification directed to people looking to develop a career in hospitality and food sector.

A construction plant fitter services, diagnoses and resolve technical issues in mobile equipment used in materials handling for the off-road and on-road construction, excavation, mining, forestry and waste management industries. They carry out routine service procedures as recommended by the manufacturers; and diagnose and resolve problems with the operation of the mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems of machines and equipment such as tracked excavators, forklifts, and cranes.

MTU is the only Technological University or Institute of Technology in the country which offers craft level apprenticeship courses in construction plant fitting.

This module will equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to identify a wide range of plants, their characteristics and their uses in different horticultural situations.

The aim of this programme is to equip learners with the knowledge, skill and competency to achieve a QQI Level 4 in Plant Identification, Care and Maintenance. There will be a particular emphasis on skill development. Progression for successful learners will be to other Horticulture components at level 4 standard. The skills achieved on this programme may also assist entry to the workplace.

This module will equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to complete the successful propagation of a wide range of plants.
