The BEng Hons Engineering Management is a four-year, professionally accredited engineering course that is designed to equip you with a valuable blend of engineering and management skills.

Engineering Management graduates play a key role in design and manufacture where the challenges include the development of more efficient and effective manufacturing systems and processes, the creation of innovative products, global sustainability and the building of new business models to support high-value manufacturing.

This course provides a foundation for students who wish to pursue further studies in
Engineering at Third Level. It is devised for school leavers and also for mature applicants.
It will enable graduates to progress to third level courses or to pursue opportunities in apprenticeships or employment.

An engineering services manager will be capable of managing the performance of a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment and associated services in commercial/industrial scale facilities throughout the entire system life cycle. This will involve liaison with designers and consultants, contracting companies, installation/commissioning/maintenance personnel, statutory agencies and end-users.

Key elements include the planning of activities, the identification and management of resources required and performance optimisation given due consideration to technical, commercial and safety/environmental aspects. The Manager will be practised in the supervision of the work of others and in communication with the various stakeholders involved in new project installations and/or in the management of existing facilities.

This programme is designed as an add-on qualification for holders of the Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate or equivalent.

This full time Engineering Technology Level 5 course is designed to meet the needs of a variety of students who wish to explore the field of engineering.

The course aims to develop skills, knowledge, and expertise essential to gaining an apprenticeship in a range of trades in the industry, as well as providing progression opportunities to those interested in studying engineering at third level.

Engineers are the innovators and problem solvers of the modern era. From simple structures the complex, a door handle to a supercar an engineer has been involved from concept design to production. This course is designed to equip learners with the skills and knowledge to enter employment at apprenticeship level or progress onto professional engineering programmes at various universities and Institutes of Technology.

The course aims to educate and train students in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis on the technical requirements of industry in Ireland. The course is a preparation for direct employment in an engineering industry. It will provide students with a solid foundation to study an engineering course at third level.

Students studying Mechanical Engineering have access to technical workshops, fitted with a variety of specialist equipment, including lathe, milling machine, cnc, mig, tig and arc welding.

This full time Engineering Technology Level 5 course is designed to meet the needs of a variety of students who wish to explore the field of engineering. The course aims to develop skills, knowledge, and expertise essential to gaining an apprenticeship in a range of trades in the industry, as well as providing progression opportunities to those interested in studying engineering at third level.

The aim of this course is to provide learners with a basic understanding of Mechanical Engineering. Students will gain practical skills to pursue a career in the Engineering industry and have an introduction to theory necessaryfor entry into Third Level education. Students will also have the opportunity to study QQI Level 5 Maths required for entry into Engineering courses at Third Level. In this course learners will through theory and practice gain experience in the following: Machine Processes, Bench Fitting, Precision Measurement, Computer Aided Design, 3D Printing & Electronics.

Engineering Technology Management graduates will develop the technical expertise of engineers combined with a comprehension of the business and industrial environment and the capacity to develop creative solutions.

Engineering Technology Management graduates will develop the technical expertise of engineers combined with a comprehension of the business and industrial environment and the capacity to develop creative solutions. 

Engineering with Management is concerned with the analysis, design, improvement, installation, and management of integrated systems of people, finance, materials and equipment.

Our graduates have the technical skills common to all excellent engineers, with this knowledge augmented by an understanding of the commercial and industrial environment and the ability to generate innovative solutions to the problems of the world.

Built around a core of significant authors writing in English from Elizabethan times to the end of the Twentieth Century, from Shakespeare to Seamus Heaney, we provide the opportunity for you to follow your own interests through a wide range of optional modules.

Two thirds of the course is made up these: you can, for example, take strands on creative and professional writing, women's writing and gender studies, and American literature; or select from modules on contemporary writing, modern drama, love poetry, film adaptation, or Beat culture, to name just a few. In your final year, you will be guided by a member of the teaching team and write a dissertation on a topic of your own choice.

This combination of one-third core study and two-thirds specialist optional modules will allow you to develop your own areas of expertise whilst still attaining a solid grounding in the history of English literature.

The Bachelor of Arts in English and History programme offers you the attractive opportunity to obtain a DCU undergraduate degree through online learning, which is more open and flexible than if you registered for a full-time, or part-time, campus-based programme.

The English and History subject areas are each presented as a suite of six modules which cover different aspects of that subject, for example Land, Politics & Society in Independent Ireland in History or The Renaissance in Literature.

The B.A. (Honours) in English and History is a 4 Year Level 8 Programme. It offers students the opportunity to read the greatest works of literature in English alongside the most important and influential events in Irish, European and world history.

Students on this programme develop a deep knowledge of literature in English and history, and more generally, advanced understandings of human society and culture at the local, regional and global level.

The structure of the programme gives students a solid foundation in both English literature and History in Years 1 and 2, before allowing them to specialise in either English or History, or to keep a balance between the subjects in Years 3 and 4.

The programme equips students with the essential tools needed for the 21st century by nourishing critical thinking, developing communication skills and fostering creativity. It also prepares graduates for life after college by teaching them employability skills through special career skills and career practice modules.
