The Access Course is a 1 year course that aims to provide mature students (aged 23 or over on year of entry to a degree programme) with the opportunity to prepare, personally and academically, for an undergraduate course of full-time study of at least three years duration at NUI, Galway.

The School Leavers course is designed for students who are 22 years of age or under who have already completed a Leaving Certificate, QQI level 5 or 6 qualification or equivalent. 

The Access Foundation Programme (AFP) is a one-year full-time course preparing students, both personally and academically, to pursue undergraduate programmes at TU Dublin. Students are based on the Aungier Street campus.

Graduates from the programme move on to undergraduate courses across a range of disciplines offered at the university, including Science and Health, IT and Computing, Engineering and Built Environment, Social Science, Business, Hospitality, Arts and Tourism.

This one-year access course equips candidates with the necessary skills, knowledge and confidence to progress to third-level education at TUS. Graduates can gain entry to a range of TUS courses at higher certificate/ordinary degree level for the following academic year on successful completion of all elements of the course, including examinations and in some cases interviews.

The access course gives students an understanding of computing, basic technology, science, engineering, business and humanities. Teaching methods include a combination of lectures, tutorials, project work and other assignments.

SEAM+ is designed to prepare adults, who may not have the formal qualifications, for successful study at university, particularly in the areas of Science, Engineering, Agriculture Science, Computer Science, Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.

This course will benefit you if you are passionate about understanding contemporary issues. It also presents students with valuable insights into the best practices in caring for others. You and your fellow students debate and learn about pressing contemporary issues such as human rights, development, migration, identity, legal systems, poverty, religion, and social change, which are shaping the culture, economics and politics of Irish society and societies all around the world.

The overall aim of this course is to introduce you to the areas of sociology, psychology, law and social studies. This course will provide you with the opportunity to develop your understanding and awareness in the area of Applied Social Studies. You will also be engaged in valuable research projects.

Successful students may progress to further or higher education or gain employment in the social care sector. The course features an opportunity to gain experience in a voluntary capacity in a variety of organisations. The course includes educational field trips, research, guest speakers and practical team working projects for experience based learning.

The Access to University Course is a full-time 13-week pre-entry course that leads to a place on your chosen undergraduate programme at UL. This course is for students whose economic or social backgrounds are underrepresented in higher education.

The course runs from January to June during the spring semester. The Access to University course has no course fee.

The course is open to QQI entrants and those under the age of 23.

The ACCA Qualification is a highly relevant, targeted combination of study and practical experience. This course provides learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue a career in the Business, Administration, Finance and Accountancy sectors.

Students will study at least eight subjects in this full time one year course covering all the key areas of working in an array of business environments. Successful past students have secured places in popular 3rd Level Business degree courses including; Commerce in UCD (DN650), Accounting and Finance in DCU (DC115), Accounting & Finance in TU Dublin (TU933).

If you have a flair for numbers or enjoy working with finance, then this course is for you. It is designed to deliver the skills, knowledge and competencies required to assist in financial and human resource management. This specialised certificate can be used to gain direct employment within public service or private organisations, as well as to gain entry to third level degree courses at Universities and Institutes of Technology.

The BSc Accounting is a distinctive broad business degree. It is unique in that it prepares students for a career in business and finance and for the pursuit of a professional accounting qualification, to further enhance career progression in business. MTU offers accounting students the benefit of small class sizes initially which assists with a smoother transition from second level. MTU accounting lecturers have professional qualifications and relevant industry experience.

The BA (Hons) in Accounting is a three-year course that prepares graduates for a global career in accounting and business and the pursuit of professional accounting qualifications. This course is accredited by various professional accounting bodies and boasts maximum available exemptions for those students wishing to pursue a professional accounting qualification.

As a result, the regulatory bodies may require particular departures from the General Programme Regulations at Ulster University.
