The Construction Common Entry Level 7 degree programme is for students interested in both construction management and quantity surveying as a career, but who may be unsure of which discipline to follow. This common entry degree programme gives students the opportunity to see both disciplines first hand. Through the various modules on offer, and interaction with the lecturers, student can decide which discipline suits them best.

A common entry BSc in Construction (with award title of BSc in Architectural Technology or BSc in Construction Management). At the end of Stage 1, learners choose either the Architectural Technology or Construction Management pathway, having had the opportunity to decide which best suits their interests skills and ability.

The aim of this certified course is to equip the learners with the skills and knowledge required to design and build a garden. On successful completion of this course learners will be awarded with a 20 credit QQI level 4 Special Purpose Award in Construction Groundwork Skills.

In addition to further developing the skills and knowledge gained during the off -the -job training elements, the learner will have the skills, knowledge and competency to work independently and under supervision is a range of construction industry contexts and or to progress to further and or higher education and training.  When completed the learner will have gained a broad foundation of knowledge and skills across the different construction disciplines especially those in carpentry, shuttering, blockwork and plastering. In addition, the mathematical and soft skills learned through the mathematics, communications and work experience modules will ensure that the learner progressing to an apprenticeship have the desired quality, suitability and competency for the courses.

Selected students will have the opportunity to apply for three-week work experience project in a European city where they can experience another culture; learn the basics of another language and enhance professional and personal knowledge and training.
