This course is acquiring knowledge around a variety of sports injuries. This comprises of assessment skills, posture analysis, fundamental massage movements, specialised massage techniques and exercise rehabilitation. Furthermore, the course enhances the learner’s knowledge as a Personal Trainer to include advanced nutrition, periodisation and advanced training/lifting techniques and programme design for special population. It is designed to enable learners to develop the personal qualities, knowledge, confidence and skills required to progress and pursue a career within the health and fitness industry, either through advancement to third level or by going directly into employment.

This course enhances the leaner’s knowledge as a Personal Trainer to include advanced nutrition, periodisation and advanced training techniques and programme design for special population. The strength and conditioning module familiarises learners with exercise prescription specifically to improve athletic and sports performance.  Strength and Conditioning comprises of the entire development of the athlete and what is needed to develop physical performance. This includes plyometrics, speed and agility, endurance and core stability with strength training being just one component.

This course is suited to those who wish to specialise in chemistry for the pharmaceutical and biomedical industries. Pharmaceutical Chemistry is a very important branch of Chemistry that is applied to the synthesis and formulation of new therapeutic drugs as well as the manufacture of medicinal compounds on a large scale.

The ATU MPharm will deliver a programme of pharmacy education and training which meets all the requirements set out in pharmacy law, allowing the student to develop all the competencies necessary to become registered to practise as a pharmacist in Ireland.
