English Literature

English Literature covers a broad range of literatures written in the English language, from Chaucer to the present day. The aim of the course is to help students acquire a thorough knowledge of the history of differing literatures while also enabling them to develop a sophisticated critical consciousness and an awareness of critical and cultural theory.

History of Art and Architecture

History of Art and Architecture is about the study of images, objects and buildings. It is unique in developing high levels of visual literacy applicable to a range of career pathways. It explores why works of art look the way they do and seeks to discover what they say about the societies that created them. It develops skills in visual analysis, critical assessment, and communication.

Energy and especially Electrical Energy is needed for everything we do in today’s world. Climate change is real and caused by burning fossil fuels. This programme covers all the technologies needed to produce energy and in particular electrical energy from renewable sources, to monitor and control energy systems and to connect them to the electricity grid. The aim of this course is to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of renewable energy systems, their technologies, and their applications in the construction sector.

In this course, learners will explore various renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, and geothermal systems, and learn how to incorporate them into construction processes to contribute to the construction of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly building.

The programme also seeks to attract existing staff working in the sector who wish to gain a qualification and begin a management career.

The aim of this programme is to provide learners with the knowledge, practical skills and competence necessary for a career in a modern ever-changing restaurant environment. This will be achieved by developing modern food and beverage skills in various different styles of food service.

This innovative new programme integrates theory with practice. It has been developed to provide a relevant professional qualification for those who wish to embark on a career in Restaurant Operations Management.
