This is an intensively hands-on course, aimed at talented students who already have a basic level of skill in the three ‘triple-threat’ areas: singing, dancing and acting.

The course combines personal skills training with group and teamwork, expressed through annual public performances in professional theatres. As well as working with highly qualified core staff, the students will meet professionals from all musical theatre fields, following up- to-the-minute trends and making contacts and networks for life.

This course provides essential and comprehensive training in the three main principles of musical theatre, namely acting, singing and dancing, which are supported by academic modules which explore further understanding of the industry. Students also participate in all important performance practice and projects. The modules have been designed to have a clear progression through each of the three years culminating in musical theatre productions in year three.

The AFA major in musical theatre offers a conservatory and holistic approach to musical theatre training, one that not only concentrates on a participatory performance perspective, but also prepares the student for a wide and exciting range of careers available in the performing arts industry.

While performance remains an integral component of the programme, students are also prepared for the vast array of work that supports and produces performance, such as directing and staging, creating written material for performance, production, management, marketing and funding of the performing arts. The programme is based around live theatrical performance, whilst also preparing the graduate for further study in all cognate specialisms in musical theatre, as well as the required preparation skills for the professional industry.

Thih is a creative and lively four-year degree in media and Irish which is taught entirely through Irish. It covers the latest thinking and research in the fast-changing world of digital media, and provides a balanced mix of academic study and practical, hands-on learning in journalism, television and radio production, broadcasting and multimedia, together with a thorough grounding in Irish language and literature and a focus on Gaeltacht heritage and culture.

Upon completion, successful learners will have achieved an ITEC diploma and certificate, which are highly recognised International Qualifications. These much sought after qualifications will facilitate them to pursue a professional career as a nail technician both at home and internationally.

The Nail technology with Beauty Therapy course will be delivered through blended learning, as this will enhance the learner’s involvement, participation and understanding of the modules as it will provide the learners with a richer learning environment with the addition of flexibility to observe industry standard practice while on work experience. The Commis Chef Apprenticeship is a prestigious, state-recognized pathway designed for individuals aiming to become professional chefs. This two-year structured program utilizes a "dual-learning" model, alternating between intensive off-the-job training in a specialized college or center and practical, work-based experience. In the classroom, apprentices master the essential theory, food science, and culinary fundamentals. These skills are then honed and perfected to a professional standard in a live kitchen environment, where apprentices work under the mentorship of qualified, experienced chefs in SOLAS-approved establishments.

This apprenticeship programme is designed to ensure that the apprentice receives training, both on and off the job, which is formally regulated and of a consistent standard nationally.

The duration of the National Hairdressing Apprenticeship will be a minimum of three years with training consisting of 80% on-the-job education and training with the employer and 20% off-the-job training with Crumlin College on a day release basis.

The Hairdressing Apprenticeship is a practical route into a career in hairdressing where you will earn while you learn. Apprentices undergo training while working four days a week with their employer and attending college one day a week. Apprentices will be supported in the workplace by an approved Mentor and in the college by their teacher. Apprentices will graduate after three years as a fully qualified Hairdresser with a QQI Level 6 award on the National Framework of Qualifications.

The National Hairdressing Apprenticeship programme is designed to ensure that the apprentice receives training both on and off the job over a minimum of three years, allowing them to “earn while they learn”.

The course structure is a blend of on-the-job training (80%) in full time employment, and one day a week off-the-job training (20%) with FET College Dhúlaigh,where we provide the necessary skills, techniques, and theory to assist them to become a fully qualified Hairdresser, as well as the confidence to do so.

It is a 2 year ‘earn and learn’ model and is strongly grounded in practical ‘on-the-job’ work based learning supported by ‘off-the-job’ learning in face to face workshops and an online learning environment.
