This TV Presenting & Film Production PLC course provides students with the advanced knowledge and skills to pursue careers in various areas of TV and Film production and presenting. Students will have the opportunity to explore and develop the art of TV Presenting, Interviewing, Autocue and Links to camera as well as Producing, Directing and Editing. Students will have access to professional camera and editing equipment and to assist them in producing a show-reel.

The curriculum places a strong emphasis on manual dexterity, rigorous health and safety standards, and organized workshop practices.  

This pre-apprenticeship programme in motor vehicle mechanics will provide you with the perfect grounding for progression to employment as an Apprentice Motor mechanic. This is a highly practical course that will help you build the technical skills and understanding to successfully apply for a position as an apprentice mechanic.

You will learn how to locate, identify and carry out a routine maintenance on a variety of mechanical and electrical components using test models and real vehicles in our Automotive Engineering workshop. You will also gain useful skills in health and safety, communications, maths, teamworking and independent learning.

A motor mechanic is responsible for the servicing, maintenance and fault diagnosis of light passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Motor mechanics carry out routine service procedures as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer, as well as diagnosing and resolving problems with the operation of the mechanical and electrical systems of vehicles. Motor mechanics are also involved in examining and preparing vehicles for the National Car Test (NCT) or the Commercial Vehicle Road Worthiness Test (CVRT).

A Motor Mechanic is a skilled technician who services, diagnoses and resolves technical concerns with light passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. This apprenticeship programme covers a range of key motor mechanic skills and knowledge which are essential in the workplace. The programme consists of 7 phases in total combining a mixture of ‘on the job’ learning and on campus training.

With this four-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified motor mechanic, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Motor Mechanics.

You may then choose to work as a motor mechanic in the motor industry in a dealership, repair shop or test centres like the NCT.

Many apprentices use their apprenticeship qualification as a platform to launch careers such as engineers, managers, self-employed business owners, technical trainers, instructors, lecturers, teachers amongst others.

This one year Motor Vehicle course is designed for students who are interested in acquiring an introduction to the theoretical and practical areas of motor vehicle industry.
