Students who undertake this one-year course in Pre-Physiotherapy studies will gain an understanding of the principles and practices of rehabilitation and an insight into how to assess and treat clients whose movement is restricted by illness, injury, disability or age. Students will gain the skills needed by the HSE to work in the healthcare sector, which will help them to understand therapy programmes and support clients in restoring or improving their mobility.

Practical classes will be timetabled on-site at Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena and the National gymnastics Training Centre at Sports Campus Ireland Campus.

This BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy, gives you the opportunity to qualify and work as a professional sports therapist with the option to progress to a master’s in Physiotherapy and become a qualified physiotherapist.

This course aims to provide learners with the skill necessary to work in the sports and recreation/sports therapy industries. Sports therapists provide a valuable service to the sports industry, specialising in the prevention and management of soft tissue injuries through manual massage techniques and electrical treatments. Throughout the year, students will develop specific skills in the area of advanced sports mas­sage techniques, learn to evalu­ate sports massage treatments and work with clients to carry out consultations and assess­ments and produce individual treatment plans. This module will equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to manage all of the factors that influence the development, quality & maintenance of sports turf in Ireland.

This programme is orientated towards the requirements of the growing sports and leisure industry with particular emphasis on coaching and fitness. It provides theoretical modules for learners interested in pursuing a career in the ever-evolving sports sector. Learners on this programme also have the opportunity to coach in local primary schools.

This REPs Ireland accredited course offers a foundation in fitness instruction, sports management, and coaching. It combines exercise science with practical training in management and administration. Featuring work placements, industry trips, and Erasmus+ opportunities, it prepares students for careers in leisure centers, health clubs, and professional coaching.

The aim of this progarmme is to equip students with a range of practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to progress to further training in several areas including the Health Sciences, Rehabilitation, Health Nutrition and Sports and Exercise Science in a range of higher certificate and degree programmes.

The National Sportsturf Management Apprenticeship is for anyone who wishes to pursue a career in the sportsturf sector or existing personnel employed in a sportsturf facility that would like to gain a recognised qualification.
