This course aims to give participants the knowledge and skills to carry out the accounts and payroll function in a small or medium sized business. This foundation course is aimed primarily at school leavers who are interested in preparing themselves for three-year actor training at conservatoire level, either at The Lir or a similar academy. With an additional focus on broadening students’ reading and understanding of plays and theatre history, it also prepares students for broader drama degrees and related areas of study and work.

As this is only a one year course, it does not attract government funding. All students offered places on the foundation course are required to fund both the annual fee and all living costs privately.

This course is designed to allow the learner gain advanced knowledge and skills in the general area of office management and leadership. The course aims to build on the solid foundation provided on completion of the Level 5 Administration Award with the addition of Business Law and Human Resource Management. Students also benefit from Payroll training, which places them in an excellent position to take up more senior administration roles in both the public and private sectors.

This one-year course in Administration and IT for Business prepares students for employment in the business, finance and IT sector.

This course provide learners with a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of information and communications technology and practical IT skills required in the performance of a broad range of administrative and organizational tasks.

It suits learners who want to acquire computer skills for the first time. It also suits learners who may have been in the work force before but who now need to update and develop new skills.
