The aim of this Tourism & Hospitality degree is to develop the operational skills of a graduate to work within the tourism sector. The Higher Diploma in Arts in Tourism Destination Marketing is suited to professionals currently employed within the tourism industry and aims to promote and encourage the development of advanced knowledge and skills in the area of tourism destination marketing.

The programme is also suited to those from complementary backgrounds who wish to enter the tourism field. In this context, it may be of particular interest to people from an arts, heritage, languages, geography, marketing or business background.

The course comprises both theoretical and practical modules, and students will gain an understanding of business and marketing.

This course is designed to prepare you for employment in the tourism industry or to progress to further and higher education.

You will engage in industry-linked modules, enjoy guest speakers from tourism careers and visit a range of tourist attractions. Work experience and a variety of teaching methods gives you the opportunity to link theory with the practical and gain a broad understanding of how the tourism industry operates. You will gain employment both at home or abroad in visitor attractions, travel agencies, hotels, reservation sales, heritage centres and reception areas.

This course aims to give students a detailed understanding of the Tourism Industry in Ireland. It provides learners with the necessary skills to work as cabin crew and passenger service agents, including the use of industry specific IT applications e.g Amadeus. Students will gain experience in a Tourism related business by completing a work placement during the course.

Tourism with Business is a 1 year Level 5 course that combines key Tourism, Business and ICT components. On completion, learners are equipped with skills that will benefit those seeking employment in the Tourism industry, looking to start your own business or hoping to progress to further or higher education.

This programme offers students the ideal combination of subjects to enable them to acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to gain direct entry into the work place in a tourism or business related role, to progress to MBC Level 6 programmes or for progression to suitable CAO courses further afield. The Tourism with Business programme boasts a high rate of Distinction grades, allowing graduates to explore 1000+ university/college option.

This one-year full time course specialising in Tourism and Travel Services, equips the learner with the vocational skills and knowledge who wish to pursue a career in the exciting Travel, Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality Industries world-wide. Tourism in Ireland currently provides 1-in-10 jobs. Learners acquire both the practical and theoretical aspects of travel, tourism, leisure and hospitality. Field trips are an integral part of the course. Learners may apply to participate in the Erasmus + involving a period of work experience abroad, usually 3 weeks in France or Spain.

Are you a recent Tourism or Business graduate at Level 7? If so, this programme will take you to a Level 8 qualification in one academic year. Though this is a business degree, the specialism is Tourism with Events Management.

This programme has been designed to provide the essential practical and theoretical skills to access employment opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industry and in event management organisations.

If you aspire to a career in the Hotel and Hospitality sector, this programme will provide you with a fantastic introduction to the wide range of careers on offer. You will learn practical skills such as food preparation, accommodation techniques and hospitality, and a range of business skills to support your career ambitions. You can progress to careers in many hospitality contexts, including hotels, resorts, restaurants, events venues, cruise-liners and destination venues.

Interested in a career in Tourism, Hospitality or Event Management but not quite sure which course to study? This is the one for you! This common entry course allows students get a taster of three different disciplines through a range of modules, which encompass practical and theoretical learning as well as guest lecturers and field trips to enhance the student experience.

Following the first year, students with the guidance of their lecturers, will then stream into year 2 of the Level 8 discipline of their choice. Students can choose from the following:
