This is a one year full-time course leading to a QQI level 5 award. The aim of this programme is to enable the learner to develop the knowledge, skills and competence to work under supervision in a range of community health service settings or to progress to further and/or higher education and training.

This course is designed for people who want to attain the standards of proficiency for social care workers as defined by CORU. The learner will engage with 18 modules that explore social care practice and how it applies in various social care settings. Students will complete over 800 hours of supervised practice placement, in a social care setting.

Professional practice placement is integral to this programme, where students complete two 13-week blocks in professional social care practice settings.

This degree will give you a recognised professional qualification in social care and prepare for you for the challenging and rewarding role of being a social care worker. This one-year Advanced Certificate (Level 6) is designed to deepen expertise in critical social care areas, including Mental Health and Disability Awareness. The program challenges students to critically evaluate contemporary trends and models of social care provision through a rigorous blend of academic and practical modules. Students explore the diverse roles of a Social Care Professional, focusing on specialized intervention strategies and the professional development necessary to support vulnerable populations effectively.

Social Care Work is described by CORU as a relationship-based approach to the purposeful planning and provision of care, protection, psychosocial support, and advocacy in partnership with vulnerable individuals and groups who experience marginalisation, disadvantage, or special needs.

Studying on the Certificate in Social Citizenship at University College Cork offers students a stimulating environment to develop the skills they need to play an active role in shaping their own futures. The course provides the opportunity for students to develop their personal educational interests and to interact with a wide range of students from different courses within UCC. The Course will teach learners the fundamental skills in Social and Digital Media, as well as web design and Entrepreneurial skills. It will be underpinned by very practical applications including Marketing and Public Relations. Students will study up to date content in topical areas such as marketing research, marketing planning, promotional methods, social media marketing, search engine optimization, digital advertising, and effective public relations. Students will be eligible to apply for progression through the CAO to various Business and Marketing courses including TU Dublin, IADT and NU Maynooth.

This course is designed for aspiring creators looking to transform their passion for photography and video into a professional brand. The curriculum focuses on monetization and digital marketing across major platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, teaching students how to build a follower base, secure sponsorships, and produce high-quality short-form video content. Graduates are equipped to enter the workforce directly or progress to further studies, such as the Media Production HND at Coláiste Dhúlaigh or various university degrees via the CAO.

The aim of this course is enable learners to enhance the sales and marketing approach of a business by using social media for digital sales and marketing.  The course focuses on:
