The Information Systems (IS) pathway of the BA (Hons) Business is designed to be specifically relevant to the modern business environment in which the role of information systems has become increasingly important.

This IS pathway aims to provide students with the skills, knowledge and competences in the use of systems and related-technologies to control and manage organisational data and information.

The 3 year Bachelor of Business (Hons) degree equips graduates to succeed on the global business stage by enabling them to be forward thinking and have the capacity to act as catalysts for growth in organisations. This three-year programme engages learners in all key marketing disciplines while also giving them grounding in broader business disciplines. The programme gives learners the opportunity to develop marketing skills and gain an understanding of business. Our BA (Hons) in Business (Marketing) is available on a full, part-time and blended learning basis over a three-year period. The purpose of the programme is to inspire and nurture a student’s interest in the marketing discipline, while providing a solid foundation in business subjects.

The philosophy of this programme is to provide students with an appropriate base of relevant business and management knowledge, with particular emphasis on the development of a firm understanding of the core issues addressed by organisational psychology.

Students choose between Finance, Marketing or Human Resource Management in their final year. This three-year degree produces graduates with a blend of business-related knowledge and skills. Graduates are equipped with knowledge in core business areas. Individual and group projects are an integral part of the programme which develop skills required for business such as analysis, team work, presentation and professional business skills. This degree will position students for jobs at graduate entry level in business or the option to continue their studies in a broad range of business disciplines.

This four-year full-time course offers you a broad range of business skills combined with a thorough knowledge of the financial and economic environment in which firms operate. On graduation, you will have developed personal and professional skills which will give you the confidence to start a successful business career, in Ireland or overseas.

The Advanced Certificate in Business with Finance and Business with Human Resource Management will provide the student with the skills, knowledge and competencies to work in a Supervisory Managerial role. it will also provide the student with the opportunities to pursue a professional qualification in Accountancy or Taxation, or it can be used as a pathway to a third level college.

Our Bachelor of Business (Hons) in Accounting degree adds up to a successful career in the world of accounting and finance. Few careers can be more fulfilling or exciting than accountancy. Our accounting courses attract the maximum exemptions from the examinations of professional accountancy bodies including ICA, ACCA, CPA and CIMA (subject to annual review). Graduates will also have the opportunity to progress onto the MA in Accounting which offers even further significant exemptions. 

The aim of this programme is to enable the learner acquire the knowledge, skill and competence in the theory, principles and practices underpinning a range of business scenarios and to enable the learner to work independently or in a supervisory capacity in a variety of business contexts and or to progress to higher education and training.

Bachelor of Business Common Entry is designed to provide you with a gateway to a better choice of business specialism.

Common Entry is a very popular choice with students.  You avail of a broad common Years 1 & 2 which will introduce you to various essential business topics along with tasters in more specific business areas. Having gained a better understanding of each subject area, you then choose your preferred pathway to specialise in Year 3.

The advantage of this course type is that it allows students more time to discover the subjects in which they are most interested.

The Bachelor of Business with degree award options: Accounting or Management or Marketing with Online Technologies is designed to enable students to study business and explore specialisms as they progress through their degree.

This course equips students with the applied skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career in a variety of areas such as commercial activity, entrepreneurship, public service, government and the not-for-profit sector. The course is structured around four key pillars – management, finance/economics, business technology and marketing. 

Many CAO applicants will know exactly what course they want to do, whereas others may be a little unsure what aspect of Business is best for them. To simplify the application process, TU have created one entry route for their Business courses, listed on the CAO as TU902 Business Options.

On the CAO the entry route is listed as TU902, with four options to choose from:

For applicants who already know what area of business they would like to study, they can choose from Business TU902 (BUS), Business with IT TU022 (BIT) or International Business TU902 (INB).

Applicants who are unsure what area of Business is best for them can choose General Entry TU902 (GEN).

The BA (Hons) in Business (Management) is designed to provide a solid foundation for success in a business career. The course provides a strong grounding in fundamental business concepts, ideas, practices and methodologies. It features a rich learning environment that involves students in comprehensive and critical analysis of business organisations, functions, processes and management techniques.

The BA (Hons) Business Management (Project Management) degree programme incorporates a balanced mix of specialised business management modules, aimed at students who, whilst wishing to study for a general business management degree, choose to focus especially on project management throughout the duration of their studies. The programme deals comprehensively with modern business management concepts whilst exploring the social, organisational, behavioural, and systems issues of project management and the provision of a framework for managing projects.

This practical one-year business accounting course is designed to provide an excellent foundation for learners wishing to study Business and/or Accountancy at Third Level. This course will allow the learner to build skills in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, communications and information technology. This course also provide learners with the knowledge and core business skills to enter employment directly. The course develops effective and persuasive written and oral communication skills; numeracy and the ability to research, interpret and use business and financial data and information. The student develops self-reliance, initiative and the ability to manage time, projects and resources.

This one-year full time course equips the learner with the vocational skills and knowledge to acquire to work independently and under supervision in an administrative role in a range of business contexts and/or to progress to further and/or higher education and training.

This programme provides students with the knowledge and skills to enter the world of business. Students are trained to a high level of competency in current office technology and computer packages. On successful completion of the programme students will have many opportunities to gain employment in the computer/secretarial areas or progress to further study in the IT or Business/Commerce areas.
