The Bachelor of Commerce (International with German) degree is a four year internationally recognised undergraduate programme which develops students’ Business and German Language skills. Graduates of this programme not only have a great business qualification but also an international language.

The BComm in International Hotel Management at Shannon College incorporates a full Commerce Degree with an emphasis on hospitality, tourism and the development of communication and leadership skills. Students have the opportunity to study on two universities campuses and experience 21 months of paid international work placement as part of this exciting degree programme.  

Commerce International (BCIT) combines a flexible business education from Ireland’s leading business school with the linguistic skills and cultural understanding to succeed in the exciting world of international business. Students of the BCIT course are well-grounded in the theory and practice of business management and equipped to understand and comment critically on business issues.

To achieve a truly global perspective on business, it is necessary to immerse yourself in the culture and not just learn the vocabulary. As part of the course, BCIT students will also take a range of literature and culture modules from the UCD School of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics.

Some examples of modules currently on offer include French New Wave Cinema, Surrealism in Spain and Mexico, Grimm’s Tales, Italian Cinema and Society.

Led by the Irish Hotels Federation, this two-year apprenticeship combines practical on-the-job training (3–4 days per week) with academic off-the-job learning (1–2 days per week). Coordinated by Kerry ETB, the program is delivered across multiple ETB locations nationwide, including Dublin, Cork, and Galway. The BA in Communications is a three-year full-time programme which aims to give learners an introduction to communications platforms including photography, radio, journalism, and TV. The course involves both practical and academic projects and gives students the chance to work in real journalistic situations over the course of six semesters.

This program develops essential skills in professional writing, media research, and photography, catering to the demands of the modern press and digital platforms. It is specifically curated to prepare students for journalism degrees or direct entry into media environments, fostering a deep understanding of ethical reporting, visual storytelling, and investigative techniques.

This 3-year Level 8 honours degree programme offers students the opportunity to garner the skills to craft, bring to life and deliver stories through the various media and platforms that are available today. This course is aimed at students who wish to pursue a career in the digital communications arena. It will include key subjects that inform the digital media sphere, including local journalism, marketing and advertising, advocacy, campaigning, community awareness and digital communication.
