Sustainable Energy Engineering involves the understanding and application of the engineering and technological principles of energy conversion and use. Modules are delivered by staff from many different disciplines, allowing the student to gain understanding of the roles of a range of engineering disciplines involved in the energy and sustainability field. Sites visits are organised which have included: wind farms, hydroelectric power stations, and solar installations.

You’ll learn about the design and operation of wind turbines, solar energy panels and other equipment associated with alternative energy.

The first two years of the course will introduce you to the fundamental areas of engineering. Sustainable Timber Technology is an exciting 4-year, full-time immersive course featuring a mix of theoretical and skills-based modules. This programme has been designed to afford students the opportunity to develop their creativity, artistic identity, and introductory to tattoo artistry skills and knowledge. Students may further their experience in the Tattoo Industry through a work experience placement. This course is a stepping stone to employment in a Tattoo Parlour. An apprenticeship as a Tattoo Artist or setting up a business. Progression to third level is an option, such as Art, Craft & Design colleges and various media courses around the country.

This course has been developed to meet the training requirements of graduates from other non-agricultural award programme who are interested in farming.

The course comprises two awards, the Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture (120 credits) and the Level 6 Specific Purpose Certificate in Farming (50 credits), and consists of a combination of formal course work and a period of practical learning. The formal course work is split between practical/ skills training and classroom (theoretical) sessions.

The course consists of a range of mandatory and elective modules such as: farm business and IT; principles of agriculture; farm safety; farm assurance; farm enterprise production modules; safe use of pesticides; farm performance and management modules; grass production modules, and environmental modules. Students choose a cluster of elective modules in one of the following specialisms: dairy production, drystock production, machinery and crop production.
