This program explores specialised knowledge and practical techniques for sustainable tourism management, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030 (SDGs). The tourism and hospitality industry is adapting to meet increasing consumer demand for ethical and sustainable practices.

This programme has been designed to afford students the opportunity to develop their creativity, artistic identity, and introductory to tattoo artistry skills and knowledge. Students may further their experience in the Tattoo Industry through a work experience placement. This course is a stepping stone to employment in a Tattoo Parlour. An apprenticeship as a Tattoo Artist or setting up a business. Progression to third level is an option, such as Art, Craft & Design colleges and various media courses around the country.

This course has been developed to meet the training requirements of graduates from other non-agricultural award programme who are interested in farming.

The course comprises two awards, the Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture (120 credits) and the Level 6 Specific Purpose Certificate in Farming (50 credits), and consists of a combination of formal course work and a period of practical learning. The formal course work is split between practical/ skills training and classroom (theoretical) sessions.

The course consists of a range of mandatory and elective modules such as: farm business and IT; principles of agriculture; farm safety; farm assurance; farm enterprise production modules; safe use of pesticides; farm performance and management modules; grass production modules, and environmental modules. Students choose a cluster of elective modules in one of the following specialisms: dairy production, drystock production, machinery and crop production.

In this 4 year degree programme you will study subjects which cover the principles and practice of Technology Management. Technology Management has been designed and developed in consultation with a panel of leading industrial experts to ensure that you will have the skills needed by industry. You will experience a broad range of subjects that will give you a good insight into the workings of modern industry.

The programme has been accredited by Engineers Ireland at Associate Engineer Level. Due to the mix of business & engineering subjects, graduates have a strong track record of securing employment. All subjects on the course are taught as if you have never experienced that subject before, and are taught through lectures, tutorials and/or practical hands-on sessions. 

This course is for students who want to tell stories and express themselves through drama, comedy, non-fiction and formatted genres. Immerse yourself in the multi-disciplinary world of modern television content creation, from traditional linear TV to multi-platform content. Although the ways in which consume, shape and interact with the medium are changing, the core skills of good storytelling remain.

The BA (Hons) in Textile & Fashion Design is a 3-year course following the first-year common entry course. Topics on the programme include Photography, Digital Media, Design History & Theory, Creative Problem Solving, Business & Entrepreneurial skills and an Ethical and Sustainable Design ethos. Textile & Fashion Design students will learn about fashion concepts, textile and surface design, woven textile design and practice, accessory design, fashion textile research and development, 3D construction, textile fabrication, and fashion directions.

Design outcomes are realised through the production of design samples, fabric collections, visualisations and/or products and prototypes. The college offers an excellent range of facilities for realising design work including digital print, screen print, transfer print and weaving while external manufacturing services such as laser-cutting, computer-aided weaving, multi-head embroidery, and finishing are also utilised.

Theatre and Drama Studies is a practice-based course for those intending to pursue a career in theatre or dramatic arts. Individual acting skills, voice production, ensemble performance and related theatre design and technical audio visual studies equip the student to work in live theatre, broadcast media or community-based arts facilitation.

This honours degree course centres on theatre performance training, with supporting modules to facilitate wider career options. The course aims to produce artists that are physically and vocally flexible and intellectually alive and curious. 

Our BA (Hons) Theatre & Performative Practices degree at University College Cork (UCC) is a window to the exciting world of theatre and performance. Our programme explores the world of theatre and the wide spectrum of performance: such as dance, outdoor performance, and music theatre. Our teaching focuses on three key themes; Making theatre, Theatre for change, The business of theatre and performance production.

As part of their studies, students will get the opportunity to perform publicly in a professional theatre. They will also experience the audition preparation process as well as build a performer portfolio to bring with them into the performing arts industry. The practical nature of the course allows students to develop their craft while enhancing their confidence and acting technique. The course in Theatre Performance deals with all general areas of drama, including devised and scripted performance. Theatre performance is an obvious first choice for those intending to pursue a career in the theatre as well as being of enormous benefit to students looking at a career in drama facilitation or dramatherapy.

Students will be involved in all aspects of theatre, from acting, to performance, to make- up, to planning and staging an event. Students will deep- dive into the history of theatrical tradition and use this learning to create productions of their own. They will also learn about the main acting schools and disciplines and explore their own unique performance ‘voice’. The course is designed to explore and experiment with performance art genres, so that participants can progress confidently towards their goals and gain immense knowledge about their own creative identity, skills, and talents.

This course will facilitate students to appreciate and learn the skills of Theatre performance, including acting, directing, stage design and production. Through a combination of lectures, workshops and practical exercises students will develop an array of skills. Students will acquire the skills and knowledge to bring characters and stories to life on stage. In addition to this, you will develop a knowledge of theatre throughout the years and gain a good understanding of Ireland’s most prolific playwrights.

The Theatre Performance course has been providing excellence in drama training for over 30 years. This acting courses is designed to provide a dynamic and empowering approach to acting and musical theatre training for all students interested in a career in professional theatre, film and television. The courses are delivered by a dedicated and experienced team of tutors who are all active theatre practitioners.

Students perform regularly in studio presentations as well as mainstage productions. This vocational aspect of the course allows the student to develop their skills and confidence through experience in live performance.

This two year full-time acting course is focused on further developing the confi-dence, initiative and performance skills of the student along with their academic development.

The 1st year Level 6 students present a full-length Shakespeare play as their mainstage production. Students also get an opportunity to travel to Padua, Italy on a fully funded Erasmus+ Programme to study the music, mask and movement of Commedia Dell’Arte. Following the trip they perform a Commedia production devised with their director Matteo Destro, in Italy and then Ireland on completion of the program.

The end of the year is focused on the assessments for QQI level 6 components and further performance experience with the Trinity College London Grade 8 examinations in both Acting and Musical Theatre.

The 2nd year diploma students perform two mainstage productions during their final year. An Expressionist show in the first term that showcases not only their acting, but also their Musical Theatre skills.

The end of year graduate production is staged in Smock Alley Theatre. Potential employers such as casting directors, casting agents and industry professionals are invited to attend.

Students then complete their Level 6 award and preparation for the Solo Acting and Musical Theatre Associate Diplomas for Trinity College London at the end of the year.
