During each semester, you’ll complete a clinical placement, which ensures you’ll meet the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) requirements. Our health service provider partners offer diverse clinical settings, giving you a broad range of clinical learning opportunities across all the primary mental health specialities. For this course, they are:

• Dublin North City Mental Health Services
• North Dublin Mental Health Services

Over the duration of the course, students will develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to care for people experiencing mental health challenges. Student’s academic and clinical knowledge will be developed using simulated learning environments and modern learning spaces.

Students gain their clinical experience in a diversity of clinical placements, caring for people experiencing mental health challenges. Mental health nursing clinical placements account for fifty percent of this course. In preparation for clinical placement students attend practical classes in the Clinical Skills laboratory.

This course is designed to give applicants the academic skills and competence to succeed at undergraduate level, the confidence to progress into a professional programme and the opportunity to undertake a rewarding career in nursing.

Mental Health Nursing is a specialised area of nursing that focuses on providing holistic, person‑centred care to people with mental health challenges across their lifespan. Mental Health Nurses work to promote independence, health and quality of life, while advocating for each person’s rights, inclusion and dignity.

This exciting degree prepares you to meet the mental health needs of adults and their families. You will study in university and across a wide range of mental health services. Most importantly you will learn from those who are experts by experience: people living with or who have experienced mental health difficulties. The BSc. (Hons) in Mental Health Nursing will provide students with knowledge, skills, attitude, and professional behaviours necessary to provide high quality care and competent nursing practice in an ever-changing health care environment.

This four-year BSc (Hons) in Psychiatric Nursing offered in conjunction with HSE West and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) has been developed in response to the changing mental health needs of the Irish population. The role of the mental health nurse is to foster the health and well-being of individuals experiencing changes in their mental health status.

People with a mental illness are cared for in many different places such as hospitals, hostels, day centres, in the community and their own homes. We want to promote positive attitudes to mental health and to help people deal with any mental/emotional challenges they face in life.

This course is designed to provide an introduction of the theory and practice involved in mental health support within the social care industry. This course aims to encourage learners to explore and develop their knowledge of social issues, and to develop a new understanding to the approaches and supports available within mental health services.

The course is designed to introduce the theory and practice of Mental Health Support, to encourage learners to explore and develop their knowledge of social issues, psychology and specific issues for the younger generation within society. This course also offers an opportunity to gain an insight into the process mental health recovery

A metal fabricator will be involved in the installation and manufacture of a range of metallic systems to include pressure vessels; tank and boiler manufacture; structural steel systems; plate steel systems and piping systems.

The job entails the reading of drawings and working with materials such as low carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel and aluminium. A metal fabricator uses skills such as measuring, marking out, cutting and welding materials using different processes and assembly techniques. A metal fabricator may also work outdoors and may be required to work at heights.

The Central Lathe Operations module is a foundational engineering course designed to teach the safe and precise use of one of the most versatile tools in manufacturing. Under expert supervision, learners will be introduced to the core mechanics of the lathe, including spindle speeds, feed rates, and tool selection. You will master basic turning operations such as facing, parallel turning, and tapering, while gaining a rigorous understanding of the health and safety protocols required in a workshop environment.
