This course will educate and train you to become a scientific analyst in the medicinal products and pharmaceutical sector, as well as related chemical industries.

It will give you a solid foundation in the chemical sciences, together with a hands-on approach to laboratory work. Access to well-equipped laboratories supports the development of a high standard of practical laboratory skills.

On Medicinal Chemistry courses you will get a strong grounding in chemistry with a specialised focus on designing and making drug-like molecules through combining organic chemistry, drug design and synthetic chemistry, which will prepare you for work in pharmaceutical research or industry. You will also gain laboratory skills, drug-development insight, plus problem solving and analytic abilities that open paths to careers in drug discovery, quality control, regulatory affairs or further postgraduate study in chemistry and pharmaceutical science.

Medicine is a unique course in that students study a broad range of subjects with the primary goal of understanding the science and practice of healing.

The Medicine curriculum at UCC is rooted in the basic Medical Sciences of Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry, but also places emphasis on clinical instruction. A distinctive feature is small-group, patient-centred teaching, in which students learn the skills of listening and communicating, history-taking and clinical examination. 

The intermediate years of the programme will focus on learning about abnormal bodily functions. You will attend a wide array of clinical skills workshops, small group tutorials and case-based teaching sessions. A lot of your time will be spent in a hospital setting attached to clinical teams. The final years of the programme are spent fully immersed in various clinical specialties on a rotational basis.

This is an integrated Masters programme accepting Leaving Certificate Applicants to study to Masters level and graduate with a Masters.

UL’s BM BS Graduate Entry Medical Programme is open to graduates from any discipline. It has a highly innovative curriculum which offers you the opportunity to complete undergraduate medical training in four years in an environment specifically designed for graduate students. RCSI's GEM programme is a four-year accelerated programme. In your first year as a GEM student, you will be taught in a dedicated teaching facility on the main St Stephen’s Green campus.

In your second year, you will spend most of your time in RCSI's dedicated teaching space at Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, Dublin. In your final two years, you will be on clinical rotations in a variety of hospitals and GP practices in Dublin and throughout the country.

The curriculum focuses on the art of male grooming, covering everything from precision cutting and tapering to contemporary styling and beard design. By blending traditional techniques with modern trends, the course ensures trainees are prepared for the fast-paced environment of a professional barbershop or grooming salon

The purpose of mental health nursing is to promote mental health and wellbeing for individuals experiencing mental illness and psychological distress. This includes working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to plan, support and deliver individualised nursing care.

The aim of the programme is to provide students with an opportunity to learn the essential knowledge, skills and competencies associated with mental health nursing. Students will develop fundamental nursing skills to enable them to provide care in a variety of healthcare environments. Students who successfully complete this five-year programme will be eligible to apply for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).

During each semester, you’ll complete a clinical placement, which ensures you’ll meet the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) requirements. Our health service provider partners offer diverse clinical settings, giving you a broad range of clinical learning opportunities across all the primary mental health specialities. Over the duration of the course, students will develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to care for people experiencing mental health challenges. Student’s academic and clinical knowledge will be developed using simulated learning environments and modern learning spaces.

Students gain their clinical experience in a diversity of clinical placements, caring for people experiencing mental health challenges. Mental health nursing clinical placements account for fifty percent of this course. In preparation for clinical placement students attend practical classes in the Clinical Skills laboratory.

Mental Health Nursing is a specialised area of nursing that focuses on providing holistic, person‑centred care to people with mental health challenges across their lifespan. Mental Health Nurses work to promote independence, health and quality of life, while advocating for each person’s rights, inclusion and dignity.

This exciting degree prepares you to meet the mental health needs of adults and their families. You will study in university and across a wide range of mental health services. Most importantly you will learn from those who are experts by experience: people living with or who have experienced mental health difficulties. You will develop the skills to engage with those suffering mental distress or illness, as well as their families, in a positive and collaborative way, empowering them to cope and recover.

The BSc. (Hons) in Mental Health Nursing will provide students with knowledge, skills, attitude, and professional behaviours necessary to provide high quality care and competent nursing practice in an ever-changing health care environment.

The BSc Nursing (Mental Health) programme is designed to ensure that you graduate with the skills, knowledge and attitudes required to deliver recovery focused compassionate care, responsive to the mental health needs of individuals and communities within evolving healthcare settings. The graduate will be able to work collaboratively and in partnership with service users, their families/carers, the wider community and other health professionals in providing a proactive, evidence-based quality holistic service.

The aim of mental health nursing is to promote mental health and wellness, to plan with, support and provide nursing care to people who suffer from mental illness and mental distress, and to support families and communities in dealing with mental health challenges.

This care can be provided in acute care facilities such as hospitals, in peoples own homes and community care settings. Supporting on-going mental health recovery is an important role of being a mental health nurse.
