It focuses on the skills, knowledge and approach necessary to work within the youth context, emphasising the link between theory and practice.

Counselling involves engaging and listening to clients about their emotions, relationships, thought processes, patterns of behaviour or life events such as bereavement, addiction, divorce, health issues or job concerns. The Certificate in Art, Craft and Design is a one-year QQI Level 5 program tailored for students who have a passion for hands-on, creative production. Students study approximately 60% computing in core areas, such as Web and Mobile Development, Networks and Databases, and 40% in creative media, such as UX Design, Graphic Design, Animation and Media Production.

Our students use industry standard innovative tools and technologies, to become proficient in programming and creative media to create custom-built interactive applications.

The course is primarily a computing course specialising in creative media, with approximately 60% computing content and 40% creative media content. It is a very practical based course where students develop skills through a strong emphasis on project work and continuous assessment.

The curriculum equips students with the vocational skills and theoretical knowledge required to explore diverse fine art and craft disciplines. Throughout the year, learners maintain sketchbooks to develop their drawing and design techniques, research various artists, and actively critique creative works. Students are encouraged to experiment with an extensive range of materials, including clay, fine art embroidery, mixed media, fabric, and printmaking, all while compiling a professional portfolio of work suitable for Art College admissions or advanced course assessments.
