This Creative Ceramics course is designed for those with a strong interest in design and learning about ceramics and craft skills. This hands-on course provides practical demonstrations from artist teachers, as well as guest artists. Students have the opportunity to design and create a wide range of unique ceramic, sculptural, and printed pieces, as well as upcycling and using sustainable materials.

Students study approximately 60% computing in core areas, such as Web and Mobile Development, Networks and Databases, and 40% in creative media, such as UX Design, Graphic Design, Animation and Media Production.

The course is primarily a computing course specialising in creative media, with approximately 60% computing content and 40% creative media content. It is a very practical based course where students develop skills through a strong emphasis on project work and continuous assessment.

The curriculum equips students with the vocational skills and theoretical knowledge required to explore diverse fine art and craft disciplines. Throughout the year, learners maintain sketchbooks to develop their drawing and design techniques, research various artists, and actively critique creative works. Students are encouraged to experiment with an extensive range of materials, including clay, fine art embroidery, mixed media, fabric, and printmaking, all while compiling a professional portfolio of work suitable for Art College admissions or advanced course assessments.

This Creative Digital Media course equips students with essential skills needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving landscape of digital media. Through hands-on projects, students gain practical experience and develop a deep understanding of the tools, techniques, and strategies utilised in the industry. By exploring cross-platform software on Apple Macs and Windows PCs, students learn to plan, design, and produce visually captivating websites enriched with a wide range of multimedia features. Industry-standard software such as Premiere Pro is used for recording and editing digital media, enabling students to create professional video content.

This full-time one-year programme provides students with an understanding of the digital skills required for a range of industries like web design, software development, games design, programming and digital marketing, among others. Students will also have an option to complete Microsoft Power BI which provides students with an opportunity to be versed in the most up-to-date data visualization software.

CFA at NCAD’s Professional Certificate in Creative Diversity, is a special intensive course. It equips learners with an awareness of equality, diversity, and inclusion within Design, such as the need to decolonise the discipline, while also providing the tools, methods and platforms to enact personal, professional and sectoral change.
