NCI’s BA (Honours) in Human Resource Management draws on our 70 years as the leading educational institution for human resource management. This is an excellent business degree with a focus on the human resources function, which includes recruitment, training, employee development and industrial relations. 

This one-year course is aimed at students who wish to develop their knowledge of Human Resource Management and offers an ideal entry level to both higher education training and employment. To participate in this Level 6 programme, the Certificate in Human Service Compliance Management, students must be working in a human service environment for at least 10 hours per week as a team member/manager/PIC/PPIM. This is vital to the applied nature of the programme.

The programme aims to provide participants with knowledge on the origins and rationale for regulations; how to prepare for and engage positively with inspections as well as an understanding and development of the necessary competencies required to abide by employment law when it comes to managing staff.

The Certificate in Human Service Manager Skills Special Purpose Award at Level 6 meets the management qualification requirements set out in the HIQA Standards.

Whether for academic research or corporate reporting, this module transforms standard typing skills into a powerful tool for professional communication.

The Computer Networking Associate Apprenticeship programme aims to enable participants to secure and retain employment in a computer networking role. Candidates accepted into the programme will be able to combine technical, communications, project management, and personal development skills to meet their employer’s requirements and should be able to act autonomously or as part of a team, as the occasion demands.

ICT Networking is an introductory course for those who want to find out whether a career in the ICT industry is the right fit for them. It is ideally suited for students who aspire to apprenticeships in the ICT industry and related fields. It is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills associated with areas of Computer Networking and Information Security. Networking trains the student in all aspects of networks from Ethernet to Internet Protocol through to the configuration of Cisco network routers.

This course will enable students to develop life skills including effective communication techniques, teamwork and independent learning.

The purpose of the ICT Skills QQI Level 4 programme is to develop practical, personal, and technological competencies to prepare learners for employment, further education, and confident use of digital tools. The award typically includes a blend of IT focused subjects, communication skills, and workplace preparation.

The Software Development Associate Apprenticeship programme aims to enable participants to secure and retain employment in a software development or computer programming role. Candidates accepted into the programme will be able to combine technical, communications, project management, and personal development skills to meet the employer’s requirements and should be able to act autonomously, or as part of a team, as the occasion demands.

In a culturally-rich and dynamic environment, students will be encouraged to develop their image-making skills and problem-solving abilities throughout the programme; whilst constantly being challenged to create original work that is strong in content and aesthetically engaging. Thorough research is an on-going necessity so that students will be able to respond to diverse and demanding project briefs, guided by enthusiastic and experienced staff.

We live in an increasingly image based culture. The digital age has brought with it a growing expectation of pictorial instruction, signs and symbols and in many contexts, the image has begun to replace the word.

A successful illustration is one that communicates the message through the unique/personal vision of the illustrator. This course blends digital technology with traditional methods, while offering a creative environment where students can experiment and develop their illustrative skills.

Students build a portfolio (both online and hardcopy) showcasing their work, with a view to progressing to the next level, be it higher education or industry.

This two-year program focuses on developing a strong visual language and narrative skills across various illustrative styles. Students master drawing, digital media, and 3D methods while ensuring their work is commercially viable. Through in-house and industry-linked assignments, learners explore sectors like children's books, graphic novels, editorial, and fashion illustration, supported by professional feedback to refine their artistic direction.

This one-year introductory course to illustration techniques and practices will enable you to develop your artistic skills and to begin the process of becoming proficient in illustration. It is also designed for those who have an interest in many aspects of art and who want to develop their appreciation of art, craft, and design.

The course will prepare you for further study in BCFE or at higher education level. It is ideal for both school leavers and mature students who are interested in art

Using professional standard iMac suite, you will create projects to develop your skills in illustration, drawing, image creation, photography, and much more. You will build on these practical creative skills and generate and evolve ideas to finished illustrative products. In addition, you will produce a portfolio of work for progression to Higher Education and your future career, becoming proficient in the Adobe suite of software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and more), building on these skills for real live projects and your art portfolio.
