The Advanced Childhood Early Learning & Care course seeks to extend students knowledge in theoretical approaches and provides learners with the skills needed to work as a room leader/supervisor in a childcare setting.

The course will provide aspiring technicians with the knowledge and skills required to contribute to the manufacture of components such as Switchgear Systems, Electrical Power Distribution Systems and Air Handling Units.

It is an ideal add-on for our Level 5 students, for students from other Level 5 courses, and for mature applicants (over 21) with relevant experience. Taught by professionals working in the industry, this course will prepare students for both further academic progression, and careers in the media, entertainment and music fields. Students will work with performers and musicians in a purpose built industry standard professional recording studio. Editing, mixing and production take place in a state-of-the-art all iMac digital sound production facility. All workstations are equipped with software including Pro Tools, Ableton Live and Logic Pro.

This course is designed for individuals with existing outdoor qualifications, this course focuses on advanced instructorship, group leadership, and environmental education. Learners gain a broad range of awards across multiple disciplines, preparing them to work within organizations or launch their own businesses.

This course provides learners with an opportunity to achieve up to five instructorship awards in canoeing, sea kayaking, rock climbing, orienteering and trail cycling as well as the training required to become a mountain leader. Uniquely, all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided free of charge and becomes the learner's property upon completion, with no course fees required.

The course is a follow-on course to the Introduction to Counselling and Psychology course at Plunket College of Further Education which introduced students to psychology and counselling skills, with an emphasis on reflection and self-awareness. This course will be of benefit to those who have a particular interest in the professional aspects of social care. Students will get an understanding of the many roles of a care worker and models of social care provision. For instance, there is an emphasis in current practice of integrating people with disabilities or special educational needs within mainstream provision. It also allows the learner to progress to higher education and training.

This course opens pathways to third level Institutes (through the Higher Education Links Scheme). This advanced Level 6 course is designed for Level 5 graduates seeking to upskill for direct media employment or secure advanced entry (into second or third year) at prestigious institutions like IADT (National Film School) and DKIT. Students gain comprehensive, hands-on experience in single-camera location shooting and multi-camera studio production, covering everything from scripts, storyboards, and budgets to filming documentaries, dramas, and news packages using professional digital equipment. Additionally, the curriculum provides intensive training in post-production—including industry-standard Avid Media Composer editing, green screen special effects, color grading, and audio correction—while teaching students how to navigate distribution, festivals, and competitions to launch their media careers.

The curriculum balances artistic storytelling with technical mastery, challenging students to integrate their creative and academic skills through largely self-directed learning. Students produce both individual and collaborative animated films, which are showcased annually at the Animation and Games Graduate Showcase, preparing them for the professional rigors of the animation industry.

This one year full-time Apprenticeship Preparatory Programme course provides learners with the foundation required to pursue an apprenticeship in the building trades. It is the ideal starting point to explore the various apprenticeship options available. Students will gain hands-on experience in carpentry, plumbing and electrical installation. provide participants with a hands-on introduction to the broad range of skills required to work in the construction industry. It will also prepare participants for entry to ordinary level degree and honours degree programmes related to the construction industry.

This one year QQI level 5 course is designed to introduce students to the dynamic, creative field of Multimedia. Graduates from this course will have proficient skills using core applications within the Adobe Creative Suite of software. Other key skills are developed relating to time management, team-work, and independent study skills. Students will also receive a solid introduction to Image Manipulation, Digital Illustration, Digital Animation, Interactive Media and Digital Video Editing.
