Geography and Geoscience is the study of our planet and the people that live on it. This multi-disciplinary programme is designed by leading research scientists in response to critical challenges facing the Earth system and humanity in the 21st century. It integrates knowledge from the physical, chemical, biological and social sciences to develop novel insights into Earth system function and human-environment interactions. 

There is a growing demand for a work force literate in the scientific and geographic protocols used to advance environmental issues such as climate change, energy use, sustainable development, and policy. This new degree course will allow you to become an expert in many decision-making fields that now rely on a fundamental understanding of how human activities depend upon natural systems, through the interpretation of the scientific, spatial, and economic aspects of geographic principles and processes.

This programme combines the study of the Geography, Landscape and Adventure. Graduates will be empowered to promote careful use and management of an increasingly threatened natural world and to educate others in wise use and sustainable practice.

Graduates will be well placed to manage the different and sometimes conflicting interests between rural land uses such as farming, tourism, outdoor recreation, nature conservation, forestry, and alternative energy solutions.

Students studying Computer Science and Geography may have a particular interest in geographic information systems, spatial data or “smart cities”. Within the Modern Languages programme you study two modern European languages to degree level. It is the most intensive exposure to languages and cultures that Trinity College has to offer. You can choose between French, German, Irish, Italian, Russian and Spanish. Apart from French and Irish all languages can be studied from both advanced and beginners level.

They will enable you to acquire a high level of language competence and fluency, combined with an in-depth understanding of the main cultures and societies in which these languages are spoken.

For prospective pilots, the ability to complete flight training together with an honours degree provides the student with a unique opportunity to take a blended approach to becoming a professional pilot.

The key benefit of this programme is undertaking a programme that trains you as a pilot while also developing your business skills. Years 1 and 4 are mainly business and Years 2 and 3 are mainly aviation.

The Global Business with Computing degree is an innovative programme, designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of global business, computing, valuable intercultural experiences, and high quality work placement opportunities. This degree provides you with a distinctive undergraduate experience designed around a broad and flexible curriculum with subject choices that will help you to understand how business decisions are undertaken in a globalised world. Subject pathways in which you can specialise as part of your global business degree include accounting, data analytics, sustainability, marketing, and enterprise. By studying Computing as a minor, you will develop skills in managing the business’ computer hardware, network operations and cyber security. If you are interested in developing a career in global business where analysing, developing and securing the business operating networking systems is a component, then BSc (Hons) Global Business with Computing is the course for you.

If you wish to develop a career working in management of theatre or the creative industries, then this course if for you.

This programme provides a supportive learning environment, where the course team are leaders in their respective fields with strong industry and education links in both teaching and research.
