This course will also focus on a range of health related subjects relevant to employment as a pharmacy assistant. Work experience is within a retail pharmacy where, as a pharmacy assistant, you can work as part of a team of health professionals in order to help customers achieve the best possible health outcome.

This hands-on laboratory skills course provides an introduction to the world of science and covers a variety of subjects related to laboratory and physical sciences. The purpose of this award is to enable the student to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work independently and under supervision in a science laboratory and or to progress to science-based programmes at third level. Students throughout the year on this course, will have the opportunity to meet scientists, researchers, and postgraduate students in a vast array of scientific fields.  This generally takes the format of talks, workshops, and field trips.

This Pre-University Science program is a strategic foundation for students aiming to progress to degree-level studies. The course is specifically tailored for three groups: Leaving Certificate students seeking more points, learners wanting a stronger scientific and mathematical base, and mature students returning to education. 

This course gives students a broad base in Science with a wide range of modules covered. It includes Animal Anatomy and Physiology for those students who may be interested in applying to Veterinary Nursing.

This programme combines theoretical and practical training in the four broad areas of childhood, adolescence, disabilities, and older people enabling successful students to gain employment in the healthcare field or to progress to third level.

Speech and Language Therapists support and care for people of all ages with speech, language, communication and swallowing difficulties. Working with other professionals in multidisciplinary teams, the therapist works closely with patients and their families to establish a therapeutic programme to help each patient communicate as effectively as possible as part of their recovery journey.

The Speech and Language Therapy Assistant course will focus on developing the students understand­ing of a variety of communication and swallowing disorders and there impact on every aspect of a person’s life. Students can obtain work experience in a variety of areas, from schools to hospitals and other clinical settings for a two-week block. The practical aspects of the course will give students a good understanding of clinical­ life, and the qualities and characteristics required for a successful career as a Speech and Language Therapist.
