This course aims to give students a detailed understanding of the Tourism Industry in Ireland. It provides learners with the necessary skills to work as cabin crew and passenger service agents, including the use of industry specific IT applications e.g Amadeus. Students will gain experience in a Tourism related business by completing a work placement during the course.

Tourism with Business is a 1 year Level 5 course that combines key Tourism, Business and ICT components. On completion, learners are equipped with skills that will benefit those seeking employment in the Tourism industry, looking to start your own business or hoping to progress to further or higher education.

The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to independently and effectively carry out a range of information, administrative and service functions in tourism-related enterprises or to progress to further or higher education and training.

The overall aim of the programme is to provide the learner with the opportunity to work in a variety of tourism related businesses, using specialised and creative skills to identify and develop entrepreneurial opportunities or to progress to further or higher education and training.

Are you a recent Tourism or Business graduate at Level 7? If so, this programme will take you to a Level 8 qualification in one academic year. Though this is a business degree, the specialism is Tourism with Events Management.

This programme has been designed to provide the essential practical and theoretical skills to access employment opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industry and in event management organisations.

Interested in a career in Tourism, Hospitality or Event Management but not quite sure which course to study? This is the one for you! This common entry course allows students get a taster of three different disciplines through a range of modules, which encompass practical and theoretical learning as well as guest lecturers and field trips to enhance the student experience.

Following the first year, students with the guidance of their lecturers, will then stream into year 2 of the Level 8 discipline of their choice. Students can choose from the following:

• Bachelor of Business in International Tourism Management
• Bachelor of Business in International Hotel and Hospitality Management
• Bachelor of Business in Event Management with Public Relations

This unique opportunity provides students with broader skillsets and a more varied first year curriculum allowing them make the best possible decision to suit their career goals.

This course is aimed at learners who wish to gain a qualification in the Tourism industry. In addition to the QQI Award, this course offers practical Industry based Qualifications in Amadeus software certified by The International Academy of Travel. Learners undertake a wide range of site visits and tours during the year. The Course offers a wide variety of modules and students have a range of potential career and further study options after successful completion of the course.

Students on this course have the opportunity based on successful interviews to take part in Erasmus link programme and gain valuable work experience and crucial life skills in a foreign country for three weeks during the academic year.
