On completion of this three year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified manufacturing engineer, with a QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering.

You may then choose to work as a manufacturing engineer in the manufacturing industry across sectors such as Pharma, Med-tech, engineering and food.

This is a three year, Level 7 Apprenticeship, with 70% of time spent in the workplace, and 30% in TUS. This course will suits individuals who are existing Production Operators/Technicians who want to train or retrain in the engineering and manufacturing sectors, and progress to a level 7 qualification.

Please note that you must already be employed in a Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship contract before you can apply for the Bachelor of Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering Apprenticeship.

This programme will deliver high quality manufacturing engineering graduates to support the local, national, and international manufacturing and service industries. It will provide the opportunity for prospective students to gain transferable knowledge and skills in order to develop rewarding and progressive careers.

This Manufacturing Operations runs twice a year. The programme was developed in consultation with the Life Sciences Industry, to give learners the knowledge and skill required by industry. After graduating, learners are qualified to seek work as Process Operator/Technician in Cork’s booming Life Sciences sector.

A manufacturing technician provides technical support for manufacturing operations including troubleshooting equipment and process issues, and validation and qualification activities of the manufacturing site. It will be necessary to work with production, operations,engineering support, quality, facilities, and safety to ensure that the engineering activities are completed as per defined project schedule. The job also involves coordinating corrective maintenance activities for production equipment within the manufacturing site.

Those that successfully complete the programme will be awarded a Level 6 Higher Certificate from MTU.

You may then choose to work as a manufacturing technician in the manufacturing industry across sectors such as Pharma, Med-tech, engineering and food production.

This Apprenticeship is a 2/3 year programme, with an approved employer, with 70% of the time spent on the job and the remaining 30% spent in the TUS Midwest Moylish Campus. Students will remain in paid employment for the 24-36 month period, allowing them to “earn while you learn”.

This programme is professionally accredited by Engineers Ireland. This is an objective evaluation and approval of engineering programmes, ensuring that they meet international standards, the needs of the engineering profession and broader responsibilities to society, environment and economy. Graduates of accredited programmes, at the appropriate standard, may go on to achieve one of the professional titles of Chartered Engineer, Associate Engineer and Engineering Technician.

An Electro-technical officer (ETO) operates, maintains and calibrates all electrical, electronic and ship’s equipment. The ETO’s role is not restricted to the engine room and they may also work on complex systems located throughout any vessel. This is an exciting programme to cater for the growing need on board ship for a specialist in electrical/electronic/networking systems.

The function of the marine engineer is to operate and maintain the engines, boilers, generators and other systems of ships. Most of the mechanical equipment aboard ship is operated and maintained by marine engineers. This course aims to provide a sound knowledge base of marine engineering.

This programme is designed to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to work as an engineering operative on a small fishing vessel. The learner will gain knowledge about the machinery and equipment typically found on a fishing vessel. They will also gain skills in the operation and maintenance of such machinery and equipment.

Marine Science encompasses the study of marine life and environments, how they are formed and evolve, and how they are affected by human activity. Topics covered in this programme include marine biology, earth science, chemistry and experimental physics, mathematics, statistics, oceanography, meteorology, botany, geology and microbiology.

As a person-focused role, marketers are equipped with a broad skillset including, research, pricing, communication, branding, and psychology. This has served to make it a very enriching and engaging career choice with marketers acting as the public interface of a company and its products. Areas of specialism include digital marketing, social marketing, fashion marketing, and sports marketing all of which are skills in popular demand.

The BA (Hons) Marketing focuses on core areas of marketing such as communications, planning, management, consumer behaviour, services marketing, marketing research, strategic marketing digital marketing and events marketing. It aims to develop learners' knowledge of the theory and practice of marketing, necessary for them to secure employment and perform in all key areas of marketing in a broad range of employment environments.

Marketing helps you understand where, when, and how to spend your marketing budget to the greatest effect; how to plan market research, develop strategic marketing plans, and create persuasive communications, while considering the needs of a multicultural, international business environment; and how marketing fits into the operations and strategy of a firm as a whole. You will also gain insights into Business as a whole, taking key modules in Management to complement your Marketing studies. 

The aim of our BA (Hons) in Marketing programme is to provide a solid foundation for students to become effective marketing professionals within a contemporary business environment. The programme will inspire participants to see the possibilities open to a business organisation of an effective implementation of up-to-date integrated marketing concepts and strategies, and the role of new technologies and innovative thinking in achieving these. It provides a comprehensive education in the digital and analytical skills that businesses need across a spectrum of marketing and sales practices. The role of the marketing professional is placed within the broader business context and is delivered through a range of business relevant modules.

The aim of this one year full time course is to provide the learner with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to work in a marketing and/or business environment. It provides an introduction to the principle elements of marketing skills and practices.

The programme also includes related study areas such as economics, behavioural studies, business skills and communications, to provide a firm foundation for the learner. Extra supports are also available, where necessary, with literacy, numeracy, IT, career guidance and counselling.

In this two-year course, you’ll gain the practical skills and knowledge required at junior executive level and be ready for further study. Subjects include marketing, behavioral science, business finance, communications, information technology, business and society, sales management, web design, marketing practice, management accounting, marketing communications.

In this course, you can acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies you need to function as a high-calibre marketing professional, both nationally and internationally.
