The National Hairdressing Apprenticeship programme is designed to ensure that the apprentice receives training both on and off the job over a minimum of three years.

With a blend of on-the-job training (80%) in full time employment, and one day a week off-the-job training (20%) with Coláiste Dhúlaigh College of Further Education (CDCFE), we provide apprentice with all the necessary skills, techniques, theory, and confidence in assisting them to become a fully qualified Hairdresser.

The National Hairdressing Apprenticeship will provide successful apprentices with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Hairdressing. This is the only recognised national qualification for fully qualified hairdressers in Ireland. The earn-as-you-learn model ensures that you are paid a weekly apprentice rate by your employer throughout your apprenticeship. Plus, our apprenticeship programme is designed to ensure that you receive training both on and off the job which is formally regulated and of a national standard.

The duration of the National Hairdressing Apprenticeship will be over 3 years with training consisting of 80% full time employment and 20% off the job training with Sallynoggin College of Further Education on a day release.

The Hairdressing Apprenticeship is a practical route into a career in hairdressing where you will earn while you learn. Apprentices undergo training while working four days a week with their employer and attending college one day a week. Apprentices will be supported in the workplace by an approved Mentor and in the college by their teacher. This 2-year Level 6 Sales Apprenticeship programme is an “earn and learn” model, designed to empower the apprentice with underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies required to become an effective sales specialist. It is strongly grounded in the practical experience of providing the apprentice with real “On-the-Job” work experience whilst being supported by “Off-the-Job” learning in face to face workshops and an online learning environment.

This course meets the criteria for the Failte Ireland Industry Qualified Tour Guide Directory. The National Tourist Guiding Badge is issued to successful students upon graduation.

The National Tour Guide Training programme at Dublinia will provide participants with the skills, knowledge and competencies to deliver and manage a comprehensive tour management and guiding service for tourists visiting and travelling in Ireland. The programme is relevant, practical and responsive to industry needs.

There are three modules: Irish Tour Guiding, Irish Natural Heritage & Culture and National Tour Management. Each module carries 15 credits.

The aim of this course is to enable the students to acquire the relevant knowledge, skill and competence to provide guiding and tour management services for tourists visiting and travelling in Ireland. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates will be provided with Tour Guiding Badges and will be registered on the directory of qualified tour guides with Fáilte Ireland.

This Nature and Adventure Leadership course will teach you how to lead groups on low land trails through Irish woodlands and in coastal environments safely and responsibly. As a Lowland Leader and National Powerboat Certified skipper, you will have the skills to teach people about native flora and fauna in Ireland’s ecosystems, and share knowledge of ecological sustainability, conservation and biodiversity as you help connect people to both forest and coastal environments.

This course will give you the skills to further pursue a degree in ecology or outdoor education after the course if you wish.
