This practical one-year business course is designed to provide an excellent foundation for learners wishing to progress to Business Degree Programmes at Third Level. This course will allow the learner to build skills in marketing, retail sales, communications, bookkeeping and information technology. This course also provides learners with the knowledge and core business skills to enter employment directly. Students will gain foundational knowledge in the areas of marketing and sales. During your studies, you are encouraged and facilitated to further develop your creativity and also acquire strong business know-how. By combining technical event management skills with business competencies, you can work and progress your career in a wide range of event-related settings.

The BBs (Hons) in Business Studies with Event Management includes both the creative and business aspects of event management. There is a full semester of work placement and/or the option to study at one of our partner universities across Europe, as well as regular field trips and guest lectures.

Students taking BBS with French will study the French language stream throughout the four years of the programme, along with their regular Business subjects.

The marketing and public relations landscape is changing with the development of Social Media and its use by many organisations, and students will learn to compete in this landscape. Modern business practices using relevant innovative technologies are at the core of this course. Students will gain applied experience by assisting in marketing initiatives, organising events, attending workshops, a two-week work placement programme to acquiring industry insights from guest speakers.
