This course focuses on the prevention, assessment and diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries related to physical activities. 

Students who undertake this one-year course in Pre-Physiotherapy studies will gain an understanding of the principles and practices of rehabilitation and an insight into how to assess and treat clients whose movement is restricted by illness, injury, disability or age. Students will gain the skills needed by the HSE to work in the healthcare sector, which will help them to understand therapy programmes and support clients in restoring or improving their mobility.

Practical classes will be timetabled on-site at Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena and the National gymnastics Training Centre at Sports Campus Ireland Campus.

This is a 2-year full-time diploma PLC course in Sport, Exercise, Health, Nutrition, Rehabilitation and Sports Psychology. It offers you the opportunity to study for a diploma in all areas of Sports Science. This course can act as a standalone qualification, or it can act as an access course where it can offer you an excellent opportunity to progress to one of our degree link courses. Stu­dents will study a range of sub­jects, with a particular emphasis being placed on anatomy, physio assistant theory and sports massage.
