The aim of this one year full-time programme is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies required to work as an autonomous practitioner in an ELC setting and/or take responsibility for an area or room and co-ordinating the provision of a quality early learning and care environment.

Building on your level 5 qualifications, the QQI Advanced Certificate in Early Learning and Care focuses on the holistic development and learning of the child. The Early Learning and Care (Stage 2) course is designed to meet the needs of the growing childcare provision in Ireland and the Siolta Quality Framework and Aistear Curriculum. Many childcare settings are now seeking level 6 qualifications for their employees in line with the requirements of the ECCE scheme and new legislative requirements for the sector.

This is year 2 of the Advanced Certificate in Early Learning and Care (Level 6). Learners will be provided with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to supervise in a range of Early Years services for children aged 0-6 years. The learners will have acquired the knowledge, skills and competence to work as autonomous practitioners and to take responsibility for a room or area in an ELC setting. 

This Fashion Buying, Styling and Visual Merchandising course is the perfect opportunity to gain insider knowledge into the world of fashion from Styling to Fashion Buying, Fashion Promotion to Business Management including Event Management and Sales. This course enables learners to gain the knowledge, skills and expertise required for an exciting career in the fashion industry. Some of our past students are now enjoying careers as fashion stylists, fashion buyers and merchandisers. Students plan, prepare and participate in the annual GTI Fashion Showcase (fashion show and exhibition), a great example of GTI's projects for applied learning..

This is a second year fashion programme offered to students who complete QQI Level 5 Fashion Design. It allows the learner to advance their design, technical and creative skills. It gives the learner a stronger understanding of the fashion industry and provides them with the skills to succeed in the world of fashion. QQI Level 6 fashion has a greater emphasis on sewing and pattern making to facilitate learners who wish to establish their own business or label.

This Advanced Certificate course is for those who have already successfully completed a QQI Level 5 Certificate in Physiotherapy Assistant, Level 5 Certificate in Sport, Recreation and Exercise or equivalent. This course is designed to support both academic advancement and immediate career entry. It prepares learners for progression to Further and Higher Education while also equipping those who wish to enter the workforce directly with the necessary skills.The programme involves practical and theoretical sport studies and sports massage techniques to prepare learners for a career in sports coaching, personal training, physiotherapy, and sports therapy.

This course equips graduates with the skills and knowledge necessary to work in the Accountancy or Financial Services sector. The ACCA qualification enjoys full international recognition which qualifies its members to work anywhere in the world.  All books and materials are supplied and this is included in your course fee. Students can sit the session CBEs in Rathmines College during the year.

This Advanced Fashion Industry Practice course provides the opportunity for the learner to develop the practical and business skills needed by fashion stylists, fashion PAs, design and retail entrepreneurs, fashion journalists, buyers, merchandisers and retailers. Trend forecasting and a solid grounding in contemporary and historical fashion equip professionals with the sensitivity to judge the ‘look of the moment’ before it happens. Technical skills in business, buying, retailing, styling, and photo shoot/art direction taught on this course will make the graduate a highly skilled fashion industry employee. Learners can also develop work suitable for a portfolio application to third-level colleges.

This course at DFEi allows students to build upon their existing foundation and develop the advanced craftsmanship skills required for the furniture industry. Focusing on more complex designs, students achieve a higher level of precision through advanced hand skills and wood machining competencies. The program integrates modern manufacturing technologies, including CNC routing, to ensure graduates possess the technical and practical expertise necessary to secure employment in contemporary furniture making and design.

This course advances the student’s skills acquired in year 1 and builds and develops professional skills required to work in the industry. Students work with their clients in an open salon in the Institute as well as during their work experience module. This ensures that students will have developed the necessary employability skills to meet the needs of their clients in the hairdressing industry, from booking the appointment, providing the service and offering hair or product advice.

This course is designed to equip the student with the relevant knowledge, skills and competence to work using a range of specialised skills in a professional kitchen.The course provides the student with an opportunity to obtain experience in a wide range of specialised areas such as food and beverage services, bakeries and busy restaurants, while gaining a sound general knowledge in areas needed to function in the hotel and catering environment.

This unique traineeship was developed in direct collaboration with industry-leading Irish companies specializing in post-production, visual effects (VFX), and animation. Designed to meet the demands of a rapidly growing sector, the program provides students with the technical and creative skills necessary to excel in modern media environments.This allows students to apply their training in real-world professional settings while spending the remainder of the program at BCFE mastering their craft.

This Level 6 course enables our Level 5 Computer Programming students to progress and develop their programming skills in C++, Java and Visual Studio 2010. Successful graduates from this course may attain advanced entry to second year Computer Science at DIT, ITT, NCI, ITB and Griffith College. The core areas of the Programming Course are Project Management, Windows Programming Programming, OOP (C++) and Software Management (Java ).

In this course, students will develop specific skills in the area of advanced sports mas­sage techniques, learn to evalu­ate sports massage treatments and work with clients to carry out consultations and assess­ments and produce individual treatment plans. Other areas where students will gain valuable knowledge are in the areas of client care, health, communica­tions, safety and hygiene, all of which are essential for success in the sports massage therapy & Healthcare industry.

The BSc in Advanced Therapeutic Technologies fuses digital technology with traditional science. This science degree is focused on the latest scientific discoveries and goes beyond learning about each step of the drug lifecycle process as it layers in cutting-edge advanced therapeutic technologies and precision medicine – state-of-the-art individual treatments based on individual’s genes, environment and lifestyle.

This one year Level 6 award provides the learner with the opportunity to work at supervisory level in a variety of tourism related businesses, or to progress to further or higher education and training. Students will attend work placement on a block basis. One of the great benefits of work experience is that it can lead to a full-time job. Work placement is arranged within the tourism sector or business firms.

This course will enhance and further develop your skills and competencies needed to work as a Special Needs Assistant (SNA) in primary, post primary education and other care settings. You will learn about “disability” and how to support people in the workplace and school environment.

This programme has been designed in partnership with industry to meet the needs of the ‘Green Economy’, which reports have projected to be a major area of employment within the Irish economy. This broad-based level 7 degree programme emphasises the principles of construction and has a strong bias towards sustainable construction practices. It equips students with practical carpentry and joinery skills and an in-depth knowledge of sustainable building technologies and materials, including the retrofitting / refurbishment of existing dwellings to achieve a low carbon design and the construction of new low-energy buildings.

Are you the kind of person who LOVES being active outdoors, either hiking on low elevation trails or sailing, sea kayaking or windsurfing? Then the Adventure Education course in Kinsale is for you. This course will teach you how to sail and windsurf, drive a powerboat and paddle in a kayak on the river and sea. It allows you to become a Level 1 Kayaking Instructor, a Lowland Leader and a National Powerboat Certified Skipper, helping connect people to both coastal and forest environments. It will also give you the skills to pursue pathways toward both sailing and windsurfing instructorships after the course if you wish.

This programme has been designed to afford learners the opportunity to develop their creativity and marketing skills. This course is a stepping stone to various third level programmes or various fields of work including PR, Advertising, Marketing and Design.

In this course, developed with the aid of industry practitioners, you'll exercise your creativity in areas such as creating advertisements, organising and running events, running a marketing campaign, creating radio and video ads, crafting a digital marketing strategy, etc.

This programme aims to assist people with intellectual disability to take control of their lives by developing their knowledge and understanding of advocacy and leadership. It aims to develop participants’ ability to make choices based on their understanding of rights. The overarching aim of the programme is to enhance people’s independent living skills.
