The three-year course is designed to facilitate a transition from novice student to creative practitioner. Students are taught a variety of design and pratical skills to achieve this.

This highly practical course features a studio environment where students complete projects in a variety of 2D design disciplines, such as: branding; illustration; packaging; typography; advertising; layout; signage; websites; mobile devices; games; moving image video and animation.

Visual Communication and Design is a problem-solving practice that uses image, text, print and screen to communicate messages. This discipline originates from graphic design and now incorporates the traditional skills of drawing, printing, photography, typography and other graphic processes with the new digital realms of video, web and animation. 

The BA in Visual Culture offers a unique opportunity to study the history, theory and analysis of art, design, architecture, fashion and screen culture in the setting of a leading art and design college. The programme is suitable for anyone with a broad interest in history, culture and society.

Visual merchandising is the practice in the retail industry of developing floor plans and three-dimensional displays to maximise sales.

You’ll develop mastery in the theory and strategies of visual merchandising, practical competence in the skills needed for retail display, and an understanding of brand image and consumer behaviour and be able to operate at a high level in the retail industry.

This practical, entry-level program is designed to equip learners with the fundamental technical  curriculum that  focuses on mastering basic welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and Manual Metal Arc (Stick) welding. Wildlife Biology is the study of the natural environment, the living things in it, and their interactions. This MTU programme, unique in Ireland, prepares you for a variety of roles (lab, field and desk-based) in research, biodiversity, conservation and land use management.
