The B.Sc. (Honours) in Game Art & Design targets the creative needs of the games industry by producing graduates who can develop high quality game content, design game levels and work with industry leading content creation tools, scripting languages and game engines.

The programme is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to work in the games industry as games artists, content creators and designers. The programme embodies the multidisciplinary nature of the games sector and seeks to address the demand for game art and design skills both nationally and internationally.

This four-year course focuses on the creation and study of games. It covers the design and development of digital and analogue games, including PC, mobile, Web, card and board games.

Topics include in-depth analysis of games, practical hands-on development experience and theoretical game studies. Along the way, you’ll also learn important industry skills such as programming, game design, digital media asset creation, project management and game publishing.

This two-year Level 8 honours degree, awarded by the University of Dundee, is a top-up program designed to integrate advanced technical, creative, and academic skills. Operating in a high-spec studio environment equipped with Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya, and a dedicated XR mo-cap lab, students engage in self-directed learning focused on iterative prototyping and asset creation. The program culminates in a collaborative final-year major project where students produce a fully functioning game, showcased through live play and promotional trailers at the annual BCFE Graduate Showcase.

The aim of this course is to provide students with an excellent foundation in computer games design. Students will gain the necessary knowledge and skills that are fundamental to the craft of games design and production. All aspects of games development from concept to storyboard creation and design through to the development of functioning 2D and 3D games are covered.

The QQI Level 5 Games Design and Development program at Dublin College Blackrock (formerly BFEI) is a one-year immersion into the multifaceted world of gaming. Students learn to conceptualize and build games from the ground up by fusing traditional art skills—such as storyboarding and character development—with high-tech computing disciplines like 3D modeling, C# programming (Unity), and graphic design. Learners will get hands on experience of exciting technologies such as motion capture, AR and VR.

This degree uses a software engineering approach to games development, combining study of the technical aspects of games programming, including virtual reality, augmented reality and artificial intelligence, with the principles of project management, quality assurance and organisational management.  While focused on developing games software, we also provide a general grounding in software engineering to equip students with the breadth of skills to work in any aspect of the information technology industry.

The curriculum focuses on a "learning-by-doing" approach, introducing students to industry-standard software such as Maya for 3D modeling, Photoshop for texturing, and Unity 3D for game engine integration. 

This is a preparatory degree that brings virtual worldbuilding, design and creativity together with game engine technologies to enable students to gain practical skills in game engine programming on platforms including Unity, Unreal and Blender. This new dynamic course aims to provide students with the knowledge, creative skills and technological competences necessary for a career in the food and/or culinary sector. The course is designed to reinforce and enhance the student’s knowledge of scientific principles, processes and technologies through the study of food. will focus on a new food product development, entrepreneurship, and introduction to sensory and consumer science. The final years of study will focus on the acquisition of scientific skills in food science, sensory and flavor science.

Three year degree combining scientific principles with the theoretical and practical aspects of food. Graduates will develop the skills necessary for an exciting career in food research and development and/or the culinary sector. The Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Culinary and Gastronomic Sciences aims to provide the student with the knowledge, creative skills and technological competences necessary for a career in the food and/or culinary sector.
