This is a course for people who are interested in becoming post-primary teachers in the areas of Technology, Engineering and Graphics. On this degree, you’ll learn about designing and innovating, and in coming up with creative solutions for the challenges facing society and industry. 

The four-year programme will be delivered through a partnership of DCU and Technological University of the Shannon (TUS). The first two years of study will take place at the TUS Athlone campus, and the final two years at the DCU Institute of Education in Dublin.

The Level 6 Advanced Certificate is the Teagasc recommended education pathway for a technician. The two-year pathway incorporates the Level 5 Certificate and the Level 6 Advanced Certificate. The initial application should be made to the Teagasc Level 5 Certificate in Agriculture course.

This full time Pre Apprenticeship Engineering & Technology QQI Level 5 course is designed to meet he needs of a variety of learners who wish to explore the field of Engineering, Manufacturing, Construction and Technology.

The aim of the course is for learners to develop skills, knowledge and expertise essential to providing progression opportunities to pursue an apprenticeship in a trade or in the manufacturing industry.

The course aim is to provide students with a thorough grounding in carpentry and joinery. The course enables students to develop practical skills in the areas of building construction and Carpentry and Joinery.

This one year full-time programme will introduce students to the world of Engineering. It aims to provide students with a wide range of experience within the Engineering sectors, while preparing students for entry into third level education, apprenticeships or direct entry into the workplace. Students will attend our purpose built engineering training workshop for one full day weekly. Here the students will use and learn how to operate different engineering machines including a CNC Lathe, a Laser Cutter and all welding types, including a VR welding simulator.

This programme will allow students to become familiar with the terminology, materials, equipment and working practices within the Engineering industry. The course content will be delivered in a practical and hands on environment where students will gain experience in Engineering Processes, Engineering Drawing and Computer Aided Design (2D and 3D CAD).

This program serves as an ideal foundation for individuals aspiring to a career within An Garda Síochána. The comprehensive curriculum is also strategically designed to benefit those applying to the Irish Prison Service and the Irish Defence Forces, providing the essential legal knowledge and physical readiness required for a successful career in the uniformed services.

This programme provides a foundation for those intending to pursue a career with An Garda Síochana, the Defence Forces or Security Organisations by focusing on a number of key areas important to the sector. Further studies in the area of Criminology, law and word processing help the learner develop skills and techniques for a career in business and commerce.

This program provides a foundational academic and practical training framework designed for aspiring healthcare professionals looking to enter the nursing profession. The curriculum balances nursing theory with core clinical competencies, covering essential healthcare modules such as infection prevention and control, care support, and professional roles and responsibilities. To reinforce classroom learning, students participate in supervised clinical work experience placements within hospitals and residential care facilities, allowing them to safely apply clinical skills and build operational confidence in real-world patient care environments.

This General Learning Programme aims to provide a foundation in subjects which students may wish to study at Third Level. It also introduces students to methods of study, writing skills and research skills that are required for successful participation in Third Level education. Graduates of this course may apply to any Third Level Institute.

The Carpentry Techniques course is practical in nature and aims to prepare students to find employment with small and large contractors as apprentices or trainee carpenters.

This course in Carpentry Techniques, which focuses on passive house building techniques and "Nearly Zero Energy Building" (NZEB) standards, aims to produce graduates who are equipped to work in the rapidly changing landscape of today's wood construction industry.

This is a pre-apprenticeship course that is aimed at students who wish to pursue a career in industry, with a particular emphasis on electrics or Engineering. It is designed for students who wish to aspire to work as electrical or Engineering apprentices in industry.

The course enables students to develop practical Electrical and Engineering skills, and a key part of the course is work experience in these areas. Students gain practical skills in areas such as Control Systems, Electronics, Engineering processes and CAD.

This is a foundational training course designed to prepare learners for a professional career in the salon industry. The curriculum focuses on developing both the technical skills and theoretical knowledge required to meet the high standards of modern hairdressing. Upon successful completion of this course, students are equipped to secure a valuable placement as an apprentice in a commercial hairdressing salon, paving the way for earned progression and formal qualification.

This one year course is aimed at those who would like to pursue a career in hairdressing. Subjects within the course are tailored to suit the hairdressing industry and include cutting, styling, colouring, Hair-upstyling, Hair Extensions wigs, perming, and barbering techniques. 

Students will learn and practice their skills in the onsite hairdressing salons and will have the opportunity to work on models. Work experience is an integral part of the course enhancing employability skills.
