NCI’s BA (Honours) in Human Resource Management draws on our 70 years as the leading educational institution for human resource management. Human Resource management is today the largest and most pervasive sector within the global economy. The need to provide quality services in a business-oriented manner requires management leadership in all the main functional business areas (finance, marketing, human resource management and operations) as well as strategic leadership.

ABE’s Human Resource Management qualifications provide a pathway through which students can develop a combination of key business skills and industry knowledge in preparation for the varied and exciting careers which the industry offers. The Higher Diploma qualification consists of eight units. Learners must complete all six mandatory units, plus two optional units. All units are mandatory to pass the Written Examination.

To participate in this Level 6 programme, the Certificate in Human Service Compliance Management, students must be working in a human service environment for at least 10 hours per week as a team member/manager/PIC/PPIM. This is vital to the applied nature of the programme.

The programme aims to provide participants with knowledge on the origins and rationale for regulations; how to prepare for and engage positively with inspections as well as an understanding and development of the necessary competencies required to abide by employment law when it comes to managing staff.

The Certificate in Human Service Manager Skills Special Purpose Award at Level 6 meets the management qualification requirements set out in the HIQA Standards.

Students must be working in a human service environment for at least 10 hours per week as a team member/manager/PIC/PPIM. This is vital to the applied nature of the programme, so that learners may both learn from their work environment and apply theory to it. It also allows for a mentorship arrangement in the workplace so that learners have a guide in this application of learning.

This Bachelor of Arts offers you the attractive opportunity to obtain a DCU undergraduate degree through online distance learning, which is more open and flexible than if you registered for a full-time, or part-time, campus-based programme. You can explore a wide breadth of Humanities subject areas, while also specialising in at least one of the subject areas you find most rewarding

This course offers learners the opportunity to acquire a QQI level 5 award in General Studies 5M3114 focusing on a broad-based study of liberal arts. The course aims to provide a programme of learning as an access course to Higher Education. The modules studied are suited to those who wish to progress to degree level courses in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. The course aims to equip students with the academic skills necessary to succeed in their first year at university.

Through the study of elective modules such as Psychology, Classical Studies, English Literature, Philosophy, and Folklore & Ethnology, students will develop a well-rounded understanding of the humanities and social sciences.

This Bachelor of Arts in Humanities (Psychology Major) programme offers you the attractive opportunity to obtain a DCU undergraduate degree through online learning, which is more open and flexible than if you registered for a full-time, or part-time, campus-based programme. The programme is accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI), which ensures that the programme meets the highest standards for undergraduate, pre-professional education and training in Psychology.

European Studies is one of the most widely recognised QQI awards. The award links into nearly all Arts & Humanities courses in all Higher Education Institutions in Ireland through the CAO. Examples of progression opportunities include Higher Education courses in the areas of Arts, History, Psychology, Humanities, Media, Law, Communications and Journalism. This course is a great all-rounder for learners who would like to explore the wide variety of modules on offer before deciding on what Higher Education progression route they would like to choose.

ICT Networking is an introductory course for those who want to find out whether a career in the ICT industry is the right fit for them. It is ideally suited for students who aspire to apprenticeships in the ICT industry and related fields. It is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills associated with areas of Computer Networking and Information Security. Networking trains the student in all aspects of networks from Ethernet to Internet Protocol through to the configuration of Cisco network routers.

This course will enable students to develop life skills including effective communication techniques, teamwork and independent learning.

The purpose of the ICT Skills QQI Level 4 programme is to develop practical, personal, and technological competencies to prepare learners for employment, further education, and confident use of digital tools. The award typically includes a blend of IT focused subjects, communication skills, and workplace preparation.

This is an industry certified course, which develops students into competent:

- PC builders
- Network Technicians
- Server Administrators & Controllers
- Manage projects with a higher level of responsibility.

In a culturally-rich and dynamic environment, students will be encouraged to develop their image-making skills and problem-solving abilities throughout the programme; whilst constantly being challenged to create original work that is strong in content and aesthetically engaging. Thorough research is an on-going necessity so that students will be able to respond to diverse and demanding project briefs, guided by enthusiastic and experienced staff.

We live in an increasingly image based culture. The digital age has brought with it a growing expectation of pictorial instruction, signs and symbols and in many contexts, the image has begun to replace the word.

A successful illustration is one that communicates the message through the unique/personal vision of the illustrator. This course blends digital technology with traditional methods, while offering a creative environment where students can experiment and develop their illustrative skills.

Students build a portfolio (both online and hardcopy) showcasing their work, with a view to progressing to the next level, be it higher education or industry.
