The purpose of the Business Administration QQI Level 5 programme is to provide learners with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and workplace experience needed to thrive in modern administrative, business, and digital environments.

The course blends hands on ICT training, business fundamentals, digital content creation, and professional development, preparing students for both employment and progression to third level.

The main aim of this programme is to equip the learners and future workers in community and/or business organisations with the knowledge, skills and ability in business administration and digital skills so they can gain employment or develop professionally in an administrative role.

The focus of the compulsory programmes is on knowledge of Business Administration, Word processing and Book-keeping and the skills required. These and the elective subjects offered by An Cosán will offer the learner a skillset which is adaptable to a variety of work areas, such as administration, businesses and digital areas.

The aim of the programme is to provide learners with the skill, knowledge and competencies to provide administrative support to include, use of office equipment, use of computer applications, document production, payroll and bookkeeping applications, text production,web design and computer graphics. Students also take Microsoft Office Specialist training and tests.

Business Analytics is about converting business data into valuable information through the use of statistical techniques and advanced software. It provides a set of analytical methods for solving problems and aiding decision-making, particularly in the context of large quantities of data. Combining such analysis with intuition can provide insights to businesses and public sector organisations and help them achieve their objectives.

Studying Business and Accounting together helps you develop an excellent set of technical accounting skills, coupled with a thorough appreciation of the world of business and management. Accounting and finance need to support the implementation of a business strategy to create and capture value for and from customers. The Business element of this degree gives students an appreciation of the core functions of a business and how they interact to create and capture value.

This course equips students with the tools, skills and knowledge they need to develop an integrated marketing approach, using both traditional and online techniques.

This degree equips graduates for the changing business world and is designed to develop an agile set of future-facing responsive skills. Specifically, graduates will act as the link/bridge between the technology developers and clients and users.

This course will create graduates who understand the digital technology underpinning business and have the communication skills and are business savvy to move seamlessly between key stakeholders in digital businesses.

This course provides a strong foundation for those students wishing to study Business and/or Economics or combination degree.

This course is designed to give students an in-depth knowledge of concepts relevant to the business/legal world with an emphasis on Economics and Accounting.

This Business and Finance course is an excellent introduction to so many areas of business, accounting and finance. The course covers key areas of business to include economics, tax, accounting and also practical IT skills, with modules in WP and spreadsheets, that further enhance skills needed to work in so many areas of business. Successful graduates have progressed to popular 3rd Level Business degree courses including; Commerce in UCD (DN650), Accounting and Finance in DCU (DC115), Accounting & Finance in TU Dublin (TU933).

This course will provide you with a solid grounding in general business and competencies in key areas such as finance, economics and accounting.

You’ll gain knowledge and skills in a broad range of business-related modules, including Accounting, Finance, Management, Marketing and Information Systems, and be able to apply this knowledge to different environments and industries. You’ll also develop good communication and writing skills.

This three-year honours degree programme is a joint collaboration developed between St Angela’s College and ATU Sligo. It covers the disciplines of Business and Irish simultaneously and equally. The Business strand is undertaken through the medium of English, and the Irish strand through the medium of Irish. Opportunities occur to marry both subjects throughout the degree. Graduates of this programme have the knowledge, skills, and attributes to progress to careers or further study in a variety of fields.

You choose one business subject (Accounting*, Business Management, International Business or Marketing) and one language (Chinese, French, German or Spanish). You do not need to have studied either business or your chosen language for the Leaving Certificate to take this degree.

The Business & Law (BBL) degree is a popular choice for many students and is extremely well regarded by employers across the legal and financial communities. The degree is a ‘double major’ which means it combines law and business in a single degree, providing an ideal skill-set for the commercial world and offering valuable career flexibility.

If you choose this degree, you will undertake business and law modules in equal measure for your first three years in both the UCD Sutherland School of Law and the UCD Quinn School of Business. This allows you to gain a deep understanding of both disciplines while offering you the opportunity to choose in final year which area interests you most for your career progression.

The aim of the programme is to develop a high level of intellectual awareness and technical competence in Business and Law. This combined programme in Business and Law was established further to industry recommendation and advice that graduates with such a combination of skills i.e. business acumen and legal knowledge would be invaluable in the contemporary graduate labour market. 

This degree combines both law and business providing graduates with a skillset that allows them enter the professions in law, or the versatility and flexibility to enter the commercial and business world. Students will be equipped with the analytical and advocacy skills that arise from legal training, combined with the numeracy and financial literacy of a business degree. 

This course provides a comprehensive grounding in the fundamental areas of law, including the legal system and the interaction of Irish and European Law. In addition, you will also engage with key areas of business such as marketing and management.
