On successful completion of the Commis Chef Apprenticeship the apprentice is awarded a Level 6 Advanced Certificate Culinary Arts.

With this two-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified commis chef, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Culinary Arts.

The BA in Communications is a three-year full-time programme which aims to give learners an introduction to communications platforms including photography, radio, journalism, and TV. This course will equip you to understand key ideas and features of the community development process, its potential to contribute to social change, the factors that have shaped community development and the current challenges faced by society. You will explore the roles of the main organisations and agencies involved in community development in Ireland.

You will be introduced to the academic foundation and general areas of social justice and gain an understanding of contemporary community and social contexts and issues. Through the study of relevant themes, you will study and examine societal injustice, legal studies, human rights and related debates that are relevant to society.

This course is suitable for both mature students and school leavers who would like to pursue a fulfilling and rewarding career providing care and support to vulnerable people in the community, but who do not necessarily wish to be a healthcare/special needs assistant.

The aim of the course is to provide students with a knowledge and understanding of social care theories and best practice, and the opportunity to gain employment in the sector or progress to further or higher education.

This course promotes principles of inclusion, human rights, equality and social justice, working towards sustainable development and tackling issues such as inequality, climate change, poverty and disadvantage.

In this course, you’ll learn the knowledge and skills you need to work in community development and youth work. Subjects include sociology, psychology, community development, social policy, addiction, human rights, youth development and social entrepreneurship. The course has a strong element of experiential learning and involves fieldwork placements.

The BA in Community and Youth Work is a fully integrated programme of education and training in both community and youth work. Community work is concerned with the development and empowerment of communities through facilitating the active participation of people in addressing issues that affect them collectively.
