The Statistics module is accepted in many universities in lieu of Leaving Cert Maths.

This flexible course will equip the student with a wide range of Business, Computer and Digital Skills, which are much sought after in the modern workplace.

Students will get the opportunity to use applications from Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, Social Media platforms, Marketing, Email and payroll software such as SAGE. These additional digital skills will greatly enhance the students job prospects or progression onto further education.

The purpose of the Business Administration QQI Level 5 programme is to provide learners with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and workplace experience needed to thrive in modern administrative, business, and digital environments.

The course blends hands on ICT training, business fundamentals, digital content creation, and professional development, preparing students for both employment and progression to third level.

The main aim of this programme is to equip the learners and future workers in community and/or business organisations with the knowledge, skills and ability in business administration and digital skills so they can gain employment or develop professionally in an administrative role.

The focus of the compulsory programmes is on knowledge of Business Administration, Word processing and Book-keeping and the skills required. These and the elective subjects offered by An Cosán will offer the learner a skillset which is adaptable to a variety of work areas, such as administration, businesses and digital areas.

This comprehensive one year Business Administration course is designed to equip school leavers and adult learners with the essential skills and knowledge required to excel in administrative roles across various industries and/or to progress to higher education and training. This course focuses on hands-on training and practical skills development, preparing learners with the real-world abilities needed to excel in business environments.

The aim of the programme is to provide learners with the skill, knowledge and competencies to provide administrative support to include, use of office equipment, use of computer applications, document production, payroll and bookkeeping applications, text production,web design and computer graphics. Students also take Microsoft Office Specialist training and tests.

Business Analytics is about converting business data into valuable information through the use of statistical techniques and advanced software. It provides a set of analytical methods for solving problems and aiding decision-making, particularly in the context of large quantities of data. Combining such analysis with intuition can provide insights to businesses and public sector organisations and help them achieve their objectives.

This course covers a wide range of business subjects at level 6 and students gain a very strong foundation in management, marketing, finance, law and leadership. In addition, students will study statistics and entrepreneurship which are keys skills required in today’s business world.

A major emphasis is placed on developing the personal, technical, entrepreneurial and analytical skills required to gain employment or to progress to further and/or higher education.

Studying Business and Accounting together helps you develop an excellent set of technical accounting skills, coupled with a thorough appreciation of the world of business and management. Accounting and finance need to support the implementation of a business strategy to create and capture value for and from customers. The Business element of this degree gives students an appreciation of the core functions of a business and how they interact to create and capture value.

This course provides learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue a career in the Business and/or Accounting sectors. Students who complete this Level 5 QQI course will have the opportunity to apply for an Apprenticeship with the Accounting Technicians of Ireland where they will work four days a week and attend college one day a week.

A 12-week work placement in a relevant workplace is part of the course. Learners will participate effectively in work experience, will work independently while under general direction, meet deadlines, observe good timekeeping, presentation, communication, adherence to health, safety and other relevant regulations. They will demonstrate personal, interpersonal and technological communication skills.
