Mechatronics is defined as a combination of mechanics and electronics which is controlled by computers. This includes designing robots or machines for various purposes; from the space rovers which explore planets, to auto-focusing digital cameras.

This programme offers both an applied and practical-based approach with content that develops industry-relevant and sought-after skills. In this work-based version of our campus course, you will spend three days a week in the workplace and two days a week studying online from IT Sligo, Ireland's largest and most experienced institute in online learning.

You will learn how to analyse, design, and control the type of machines and processes that are used, for example, in biomedical, automotive manufacture and high-speed automation. As a Mechatronic Systems graduate you will be equally at home in the mechanical or electronic domain and will be a specialist in interfacing computer-controlled systems.

This is a one-year full-time programme which enables learners to develop their visual skills and explore their creativity though digital and practical processes. This course would suit someone who has an interest in Media, Art and Graphic Design. Opportunities to participate in educational trips, talks and workshops are available.

This one-year full time course equips the learner with the vocational skills and knowledge to work as a media professional both independently and in a supervisory capacity in a fully functioning radio station. The programme is designed to give the learner ample opportunity to hone key skills working in a live broadcasting environment, develop an understanding of an ever changing and growing media industry and build a portfolio of work as a media professional, broadcaster and journalist.

With a complementary suite of practical and theoretical modules, all aspects of the course inform and are informed by each other. 

In our Media Studies degree students will study the principles and practices of audio-visual production and interactive web authoring, how to research and analyse media cultures, genres and industries, and the role of media in society and politics.

Students engage in independent and group projects to develop their media practice and have a flexible range of optional modules to expand their critical understanding.

This one-year QQI Level 5 certificate course is designed to give you a nationally recognised vocational qualification that enables you to work in both the medical/dental and general secretarial environments. It provide learners with the knowledge and skills to meet the specialist administrative and secretarial needs of a range of health care occupations as found in hospitals, community health, general and private practice, research, the pharmaceutical industry and complementary medicine.

The course is based around general areas of administration and business, secretarial skills, key concepts of computing and its uses in the workplace. The course enables learners to progress directly into employment.

This programme enables the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work independently and under supervision providing administration services and support in a range of office administration contexts and or to progress to higher education and training.

You will learn through a combination of onsite modules that are assignment based and complemented with online independent study. You will also source and complete a Work Placement in a legal, medical, or business setting that gives you the opportunity to put into practice the industry skills you are acquiring throughout the course.
