This is a course for people with intellectual disabilities.

The Certificate in Disability-Inclusive Practice is for students who have already completed the Certificate in Contemporary Living, or the Certificate in Social Citizenship, or another equivalent programme.

The course aims to develop students’ presentation, communication and self-advocacy skills. Students will learn to:

• Deliver training on disability-inclusive practices in education and professional settings
• Review and respond to policies for disability inclusion
• Audit spaces for the physical, social and cultural inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities.

A work placement is an important part of the course.

The application of DNA technologies in forensics, and a wide range of industries and the state laboratories, has increased hugely. This course will provide you with a broad knowledge and understanding of the core biological and chemical sciences. You’ll develop practical and problem-solving skills in the laboratory in pharmaceutical, biological and chemical & forensic analysis, as well as both theoretical understanding and practical skills in DNA fingerprinting technology.

MIC's new BA in Drama and English offers a unique combination of Drama/Theatre practice and research with significant grounding in English Literature.

This Theatre Performance course provides a training in core performance skills.

The drama course also integrates other strands of the arts to complement theatre experiences, so students who wish to develop visual, musical, dance or other artistic skills are particularly well-suited to this training.

Theatre Studies encompass all the arts that make up the live experience we call theatre – including costume, lighting, sound, devising, directing, design, dramaturgy and playwriting. We also study the meaning behind theatre, analysing culture and politics, space and place, the presence of audience and performers, and the use of digital technology.

What is Drama?
Drama exists on and off the stage. Theatre happens in our everyday life. It is the basis for story-telling and other forms of performance within the creative arts. It has its origins in sacred ritual and remains central today as part of our sensemaking as we negotiate our place in the world.

What is Middle Eastern, Jewish and Islamic Civilisations?
The cultures and societies of the Middle East have been deeply influential in shaping European and western values. In spite of this, the region and its peoples are often misunderstood and represented. Middle Eastern, Jewish and Islamic Civilisations is the study of the historical origins as well as contemporary culture of a wide range of societies of the region, providing you with an insight into the contemporary Middle East and to the challenges of diversity and multiculturalism in an increasingly globalised world.

Drama Studies

The course explores the relationship between the theory and practice of Drama and Theatre to discover how and why they work. The strong developmental emphasis of the courses requires a particular blend of practical and academic skills. In addition to a high level of analytical ability and creativity you will need to possess resourcefulness and self-motivation.

Students combine this subject with their choice of Italian, Russian or Spanish.

This programme has been developed in conjunction with people working in the industries that employ our graduates. We aim to produce graduates who understand how medicines and healthcare products, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biopharmaceuticals, are manufactured and checked to make sure they are safe, effective, and of a high quality. Drug and Medicinal Product Analysis is a highly relevant programme that leads to excellent job prospects. 

Inaugurated in November 2017, the Dual BA Program between Trinity College Dublin and Columbia University builds upon the success of two preexisting international dual degree programs within the School of General Studies, and a long-standing exchange program partnership between both universities. The second transatlantic undergraduate program at Columbia University, the Dual BA Program builds upon previous partnerships in both Europe and Asia and serves as a model for future cooperative efforts between Columbia and international universities.

The Dual BA Program offers students an international educational experience with a program spanning two continents and cosmopolitan cities. The Program allows students to enhance their global outlook and develop their language skills and communication abilities to a high level. Students spend the first two years studying in Dublin’s city center and the final two years in the heart of New York City.
