The programme is aimed at professional seafarers with an undergraduate degree in Nautical Science who want to further their education and expand employment opportunities both at sea and ashore. On completion of BSc Honours in Nautical Science – Professional successful candidates will be eligible to apply for a Chief Mate Certificate of Competency (CoC) oral examination.

This programme is also available as an Academic only mode of study.

The programme is designed for fishing vessel deck oƯicers who hold Skipper Full or Second Hand Full Certificates of Competency and wish to gain Mercantile Marine qualifications. On programme completion the candidates will attain an MTU Special Purpose Award and will be eligible to apply for OƯicer of the Watch/Master on ships less than 500GT Near Coastal Certificate of Competency (CoC) oral examination.

The Dark Sky Guiding program is a specialized training course designed to turn astronomy enthusiasts into professional celestial guides.You will learn to use professional tools—including telescopes, binoculars, and astronomy software—to identify celestial objects and phenomena with precision. The program emphasizes the art of storytelling and educational engagement, ensuring you can share the wonders of the universe safely and accurately.

This module will equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to perform operations in a nursery stock plant production unit.
