The Information Systems (IS) pathway of the BA (Hons) Business is designed to be specifically relevant to the modern business environment in which the role of information systems has become increasingly important.

This IS pathway aims to provide students with the skills, knowledge and competences in the use of systems and related-technologies to control and manage organisational data and information.

The 3 year Bachelor of Business (Hons) degree equips graduates to succeed on the global business stage by enabling them to be forward thinking and have the capacity to act as catalysts for growth in organisations. This degree reflects the intrinsic need to develop the next generation of leaders who understand how to manage innovation and drive an organisation forward in the digital age.

This three-year programme engages learners in all key marketing disciplines while also giving them grounding in broader business disciplines. The programme gives learners the opportunity to develop marketing skills and gain an understanding of business. Our BA (Hons) in Business (Marketing) is available on a full, part-time and blended learning basis over a three-year period. The purpose of the programme is to inspire and nurture a student’s interest in the marketing discipline, while providing a solid foundation in business subjects.

The philosophy of this programme is to provide students with an appropriate base of relevant business and management knowledge, with particular emphasis on the development of a firm understanding of the core issues addressed by organisational psychology.

This degree is designed to ensure our graduates have the capabilities and skills for the current dynamic and challenging business environment. Students study core business areas throughout their studies before choosing their specialist stream in Year 4. Students choose between Finance, Marketing or Human Resource Management in their final year. This offers students the flexibility to explore various aspects of business before committing to a specialism. This programme looks at the broader business world and is perfect for a student looking to obtain a diverse range of skills and learn what area of business is for them.  

This three-year degree produces graduates with a blend of business-related knowledge and skills. Graduates are equipped with knowledge in core business areas. Individual and group projects are an integral part of the programme which develop skills required for business such as analysis, team work, presentation and professional business skills. This degree will position students for jobs at graduate entry level in business or the option to continue their studies in a broad range of business disciplines.

This four-year full-time course offers you a broad range of business skills combined with a thorough knowledge of the financial and economic environment in which firms operate. On graduation, you will have developed personal and professional skills which will give you the confidence to start a successful business career, in Ireland or overseas.

Our Bachelor of Business (Hons) in Accounting degree adds up to a successful career in the world of accounting and finance. Few careers can be more fulfilling or exciting than accountancy. Our accounting courses attract the maximum exemptions from the examinations of professional accountancy bodies including ICA, ACCA, CPA and CIMA (subject to annual review). Graduates will also have the opportunity to progress onto the MA in Accounting which offers even further significant exemptions. 

This course is a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate and is a progression course for any student who already has a QQI Level 5 Certificate or equivalent and for mature students who may have industry experience.

The course covers a wide range of business subjects and gives students a very strong foundation in management, marketing, sales, finance, law and economics. The course is designed to maximise the advanced-entry options to a range of degree programmes across our partner, higher-education colleges in Dublin. Students on this course will acquire the knowledge, skill and competence in a wide range of business subjects including management, marketing, finance, statistics and economics. Enabling students to work independently or in a supervisory capacity in a variety of business contexts and/or progress to higher education and training.

Bachelor of Business Common Entry is designed to provide you with a gateway to a better choice of business specialism.

Common Entry is a very popular choice with students.  You avail of a broad common Years 1 & 2 which will introduce you to various essential business topics along with tasters in more specific business areas. Having gained a better understanding of each subject area, you then choose your preferred pathway to specialise in Year 3.

The advantage of this course type is that it allows students more time to discover the subjects in which they are most interested.

The Bachelor of Business with degree award options: Accounting or Management or Marketing with Online Technologies is designed to enable students to study business and explore specialisms as they progress through their degree.

This course equips students with the applied skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career in a variety of areas such as commercial activity, entrepreneurship, public service, government and the not-for-profit sector. The course is structured around four key pillars – management, finance/economics, business technology and marketing. 

Many CAO applicants will know exactly what course they want to do, whereas others may be a little unsure what aspect of Business is best for them. To simplify the application process, TU have created one entry route for their Business courses, listed on the CAO as TU902 Business Options.
