Our BSc International Business with Languages programme combines comprehensive business education with the study of a language and culture – including a placement abroad. This exciting new four-year programme will provide you with key insights into international business management and contemporary issues in the global economy.

Graduates of this course will be prepared for a career in the ever-evolving international business landscape, with the opportunity to learn another language. The course will cover modules that will prepare graduates for work in business, sales support, project management, IT systems and support. Students can also study abroad or complete a work placement during their third year of study.

An essential challenge for businesses in Ireland is how they can connect the capabilities of our workforce to contribute to solutions for people who are largely in markets outside Ireland, across the EU and the wider global community. Business needs graduates who can both understand the fundamentals of how to create value for customers and how to translate them into solutions and services that fit the needs of diverse cultures.

This course has three key characteristics: the acquisition of business expertise, the acquisition of professional competence in one or more languages, and the third year spent abroad in the country of the student’s major language.

You’ll study the full range of business modules required to gain an in-depth understanding of international business. You’ll also study the language(s) of your choice and acquire a level of competency in the one or more languages that you need to work in multilingual and multicultural environments.

This newly designed degree will equip you with the experience required of current graduates through innovative practical assignments, interactive classroom settings and the opportunity to enjoy two international placements throughout the four-year programme. These international experiences will allow you to increase your foreign language competencies and build cultural awareness from both a societal and business perspective.

As a graduate of the BBS (Hons) in International Business Studies you will have the business, language and international skills to be the decision-making, problem-solving industry leaders of the future.

This programme is geared at meeting the skills shortage that has been identified for roles in businesses operating in various international environments. This may relate to business development, project management, supply chain management and other areas.

Students will develop a broad understanding of business issues with an international perspective, while also studying a language of their choice. Topics such as culture, management, negotiation, trade, law, and much more underpin the programme.

Study Finance, Economics, Mathematics and a choice of languages or Computer Science. Learn how the financial system works – how assets are traded, international markets are linked, government policy decisions affect the economy and how financial markets respond. 

This course is aimed at learners who wish to pursue a career in the International Financial services sector or gain an eligible qualification for entry to the IFS Associate apprenticeship programme. On successful completion of the course the learner will have developed the core knowledge, skills and competencies required for entry roles in the financial services sector.

Successful graduate of the course are also eligible to apply for many business related higher education programmes through the Higher Education Links Scheme (HELS).

This course provides students with the opportunity to study contemporary modules in e-business, web design, media planning, food and drink tourism, procurement and tourism planning and policy. 

Students will undertake a six month professional internship in Ireland or with international partners of the college department abroad. Additionally, students will be able to study French, German, or Spanish thereby maximising their employability.

This course will give you the management, technological and operational skills you need to work in the international hospitality industry. Specific modules enhance the international focus of the course and the international experience of the student.

The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in International Hotel Management is a four-year full time programme. This programme has a long-established excellent reputation and was the first hotel management degree to be offered in Ireland. This programme aims to provide learners with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary for a successful career in management. Teaching is delivered through a range of practical and academic learning styles to maximise the student learning experience.

This course is designed to prepare graduates to become efficient managers in the tourism industry. Tourism specific modules will develop an understanding of the complex issues facing a contemporary national and international tourism industry, while business and management modules will develop critical transferable skills in business, marketing, management, finance and data analysis.

This degree prepares graduates for many of the business roles available in the tourism industry in Ireland and internationally today. Students develop skills at both operational and supervisory management levels. This course also develops students' entrepreneurial skills to facilitate new business start-ups.  In today’s economic climate, these skills will prove invaluable upon graduation.

The integrated work placements in Year One and Year Two allow students to experience at first hand the challenges, demands and rewards of working in this exciting and ever-changing industry.

The aim of this programme is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill and competence to work independently or under supervision in an International Trade oriented environment, or to progress to further or higher education and training.

Work placement or work experience may be a core feature element of this programme to develop and enhance employability and transferrable skills. Entrepreneurial and business planning skills and modules may be available, to enable learners to explore self-employment as a career option.

The degree is designed to meet the needs of those who want to work in travel and tourism, which is now one of the world’s largest sectors. You will develop a detailed knowledge of travel, tourism and the associated skills necessary for management in this evolving and dynamic sector that is highly customer focused and media influenced.
