Much of the teaching is provided through the target language. The third year is spent at a university or business school in Germany.

The BBs (Hons) in Business Studies with Event Management includes both the creative and business aspects of event management. During your studies, you are encouraged and facilitated to further develop your creativity and also acquire strong business know-how. By combining technical event management skills with business competencies, you can work and progress your career in a wide range of event-related settings. There is a full semester of work placement and/or the option to study at one of our partner universities across Europe, as well as regular field trips and guest lectures. 

Offering a balance of theoretical and practical learning that explores the latest trends and practices in event management, this course equips you with the practical skills to coordinate the interconnected aspects of the process from pre-event planning and design to post-event debriefing and evaluation, and to progress to leadership roles in the events sector. The Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) programme will provide you with a broad business education. You will study the core business principles of accounting, economics, risk management and insurance, human resource management and marketing. Students taking BBS with French will study the French language stream throughout the four years of the programme, along with their regular Business subjects.

This course is intended for students who have an interest in strategic and practical areas of business and marketing. The marketing and public relations landscape is changing with the development of Social Media and its use by many organisations, and students will learn to compete in this landscape. Modern business practices using relevant innovative technologies are at the core of this course. Students will gain applied experience by assisting in marketing initiatives, organising events, attending workshops, a two-week work placement programme to acquiring industry insights from guest speakers.

This Pre-University course is an excellent foundation for those wishing to pursue higher education degree programmes in UCD, TU Dublin, DCU, TCD, NUI Maynooth and other colleges.
