This course is aimed at learners who wish to gain an initial qualification in one of the many areas of social studies. On completion of the courses learners will have gained the following skills:

The youth work course supports the development of youth work practitioners as professionals, with an enhanced understanding of societal impacts on young people. Emphasis on human rights, social justice and equality are central themes within the modules.

Combined with the development of desired skill sets such as IT, programme development, and understanding of sociology, psychology and relationships, this course aims to educate youth workers with critical, essential skills for the youth work setting.

A course designed for school leavers or adults who wish to become complementary health therapists and want to develop their interest in the field of complementary therapies. Learners will acquire a deep knowledge of complementary therapy theory and practice and a new understanding of how these fit into the wider context of the health science.

This course offers an opportunity to get internationally recognised CIBTAC qualifications in a range of therapies to engage in professional practice.

In this course, students are given the opportunity to identify the components of a computer and learn how they work. As part of this course students, will be required to assemble and disassemble a personal computer (PC), troubleshoot PC hardware and software problems, and build and maintain a peer-to-peer local area network. Throughout the course there is a focus on the development of 'soft skills' such as problem solving, communications and team working. All subjects are taught in a career-focused and interactive way.

If you wish to enter the IT workforce, this course will introduce you to a range of computer applications. At the end of the course, you will be confident and proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel and Access. You will also learn how to design and produce both web pages and mobile applications using a range of software tools including those from the Adobe suite such as Adobe XD and Dreamweaver.

Over 80% of your time will be spent on the computer. This course will enhance your skills and knowledge to prepare you for entry level in the world of work in areas such as administration, sales, of-fice/secretarial work and technical support. This course will also enable you to progress to further or higher education.
